The Eastern Bluebird

Fat little birds make me smile! The Eastern bluebird is a North American migratory thrush. My subject is a male with the most luxurious neck rolls! Drawn in Prismacolor soft core colored pencils on toned tan sketch paper.

@Leapingbluehare Thank you!

I used to do a bit of colored pencil and really enjoyed it but then the iPad came along. Just recently gave mostly of my pencils to our 7 y/o grandson keeping a few just in case. Right now raising a puppy takes much of my time.

@Leapingbluehare Puppies do take a lot of time :) Which art app do you use on your iPad?
Jas Z (@Leapingbluehare)
@misti My go to art app is Procreate which I was lucky enough to obtain free. That is an interesting story if true but another time. I have purchased and tried dozens of drawing apps since the first iPad came out. Many had a particular aspect that intrigued me. I gravitated to Procreate because it has so many brushes available both free and for purchase created by other artists. Some say there are too many brushes but I like to experiment. And various canvases/papers are available for sale. Plus there are so many Procreate artists providing great YouTube tutorials. I have other drawing apps on my iPad Pro 12.9 so when I want a change they are available. My other "favorites" in no particular order are Linea Sketch, Paper by 53 (Now WeTransfer), Adobe Fresco, Tayasui Sketches and Brushes which I just purchased since David Hockney uses it. I also have Designer by Affinity but have not spent the time to learn for me their complicated UI. It is expensive. ArtRage is a favorite for many who like painting in oils. Hope I didn't bore you.
