David Corkery Hello, my name is David Corkery,
and I'm a doodle addict.
Ireland Plus

I am an outsider artist from the Republic Of Ireland. My art is Schizophrenic in nature. Thats why my style is not static but evolving all the time. My paintings are so different from each other, but they are mine. I could not tolerate turning out the same idea, over and over, again. I am not selling my art pieces publicly at the moment, but only privetly. I have a lot of work displayed, because I have been doing art for the last eleven years. I would be grateful for any feedback or comments.Thank you.

A Sketch I did About A time I Went For A walk In The Park.

Sometimes I come home and I have to express myself, for better or worse. I am an outsider both in art and in my personal life. Nature of my illness.

The painting is from were I grew up.

I tried to use my imagination for this, but I had to fall back on photo reference, to finish it. THe problem with the composition is I did not use a background colour. I did this about 3 years ago. Their are mountains in the background.

From the body of work entitledLabours Of The Land, Work Can Bring Peace To The Day.

This landscape is a finished work, and is designed to relax those who are weighed down by work.It is of an Irish Berry Field. I did it mostly from imagination, but I did use some photo reference to get the background right.

The Black Road Along The Horizon

I did this mostly from the imagination. The perspective is a bit off,but I still like it. Its of a peat bog in Ireland. A peat bog is similare to a marsh except the mud or soil solidifys, and then it can be cut for fuel.

Drawing from the imagination#3

I think I will move onto the face next, as the face is by far the hardest element in the figure to get right.

Forest Of Pycosis

When you are in this forest, you are lost, until the sun rises again to show the path out of madness. This was one of the first large paintings, that I completed. Its a strange thing because when I was painting it, i distorted the horizon line. The line should be level by right.

In The shadow of the old asylum

From the body of work entitledThe Sheep Are Following Me.

This is the first canvas in the work. Its based on a sketch I did. I did five pieces, and this is #1.It is a self portrait. The reason for three figures is that it is meant to repersent motion.

A still life i did a long time ago.

Most of the first six years of doing art, I used pencil. This took me about 10 - 12 hours of work. Most of the work was on the different tones of the tea pot.

A Study of Jean-Michel Basquiats work

This is a quick study of a work by the famous painter from New York. I need to improve my art because at the moment I am not turning out good pieces. You know, we never see the early art that the great artists did. I am not critising the famous artists for their early work, but the public never see the progress that Van Gogh or Picasso made in their early years. It gives the impression that they just sarted out as great artists, which is not the case.I did this study purely as an educational endevor.

Gladator/now we are free

This is inspired from the the soundtrack to Gladator the film. Its about how most people will end up in some kind of Colosseum, metaphorically speaking. Life will throw at us many problems. A sketch for a body of work. The black cross is a sword buried in the ground. Maybe its a symbol of peace.

A sketch i just did this morning.

I am gaining an interest in figure drawing from the imagination. Drawing a figure is like craving a away at a block of granit. You make many atempts to get the figure right.
