Lately, I have been focusing on making art cards so that my work is more accessible to anyone who is interested but doesn't want to invest in a large original piece for their collection.

This is an experiment, I was trying to make a paper doll. I haven't cut out the pieces yet, but I'll post a picture tomorrow with the doll wearing the clothes. I also experimented with shading on the hair, and a different way of drawing it. I'm really sorry the picture is on it's side, I will fix that next time I do one of these.

It is by no means a lack of inspiration especially when we now know that: "art is born of art and not of nature": Ernst Gombrich. It’s messy, but i’m trying to do new things in my sketchbook and not worry about how “good” it looks. Im trying out new hair styles/looks and i’m working on a medium i don’t use a lot anymore (markers). I also decided to start shading using a blue and i think i really like that and will do it more often.

This was a gift for a special colleague who had already worked at my school for more than 20 years. I painted her with gouache and especially her blond hair gave me a headache. I‘ve never worked with this paint before. In the background I used special paper, charcoal and acrylic markers. Inside the card is a poem about her.

One day, in the afternoon she was sitting on that seat with a thin heart. She was feeling watercolor with full brightness hitting her soul slowly. In her heart said, "what was I do? Everything is very simple, just follow the truth about my life. But, I can't do it and back anymore". Ceci est un de mes premier projet à l'acrylique. Il est composer essentiellement de couleur primaire. Il illustre un drapeau des États Unis d'Amérique blanc et rouge sur laquelle des étoiles à cinq pointe et astérisque, jaune, bleu, rouge, noir et blanc. Notez: c'est une photo prise avec un léger angle. / One of my first acrylic painting. Essentially from primary color.

I haven't posted on a while but here's more digital art! I think I shaped the eyes wrong so now they just look sad but hey, I'm learning! I didn't have time to give details to the hair since I was focused on the face, but I like the shape of it. What do you think? Let me know if you have any suggestions to improve this, thanks!

The 4th Joyful Mystery, the Presentation of Jesus. I put Joseph up front because he had a very important part not only in the Circumsision of Jesus after 8 days but also the Presentation of Jesus after 40 days. In fact the Fathers are the ones who offer the sacrifice in private (with other jewish priests etc.) in order to "Redeem" the child. Hence one of Saint Joseph's titles: "The Redeemer of the Redeemer". He also has the unique title of the "Savior of the Savior" because in the flight to Egypt after this event Joseph saved Jesus from the hands of Herod. Oh and I got to see the tomb of Saint Simeon! It's in Zadok and we got to see his body, he still had flesh but his beard had fallen out (poor guy, lol). He was a very holy man, I could feel the graces there. ^_^ St. Simeon and St. Anna the Prophetess, pray for us!
