When we look at each other, all we see is their outward appearance. However, we are all much more than that. We are all more than the color of our skin. I am black, but I am also Cuban, American, African American, and Irish. I am more than my skin color.

I have to draw elves a lot for work, so I also wanted to draw one for my uni sketchbook :)

So, I used to do this a lot when I was growing up, like I am sure most of you do. I also do it to get inspiration should I ever need to start work with no prompt or to get limbered up to draw. There are three family younglings that visited me a while ago and they all gave me a different scribble line to start with and then I would draw what I imagine.

Fifth Sorrowful Mystery: The crucifixion. I made the water and blood appear sorta as when Jesus appeared in the Divine Mercy devotion. Indeed a great act of mercy, his head is leaning towards the Good Thief, St. Dismas, to show his mecy towards him, the other thief refused (Gesmas). We also have St. John the Apostle, St. Mary Magdeline, Our Blessed Mother and St. Longinus, the roman soldier who pierced Jesus' heart with the Holy Lance. St. Longinus was healed spiritually the water and blood that poured forth by this act and believed, proclaiming Jesus to truly be the Son of God. "And when they came to the place which is called The Skull, there they crucified him, and the criminals, one on the right and one on the left. And Jesus said, 'Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do' ...It was now about the sixth hour, and there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour, while the sun's light failed; and the curtain of the temple was torn in two. Then Jesus, crying with a loud voice, said, 'Father, into thy hands I commit my spirit!' And having said this he breathed his last" (Lk 23:33-46). Eve is a continuation on my series of portraits. This piece represents my maturing technique and style as I begin to experiment with creamy consistencies. The painting displayed my ability to capture facial expressions. My trip to Paris, France influenced my painting style. I was struck by the realism and drama depicted in various compositions, but also the lack of diversity. This piece is named "Eve" questioning whether the holy subjects depicted in European art were, in fact, part of a different race altogether.

This artwork started as a doodle. I love chaos & i love the freedom to meander endlessly w a pencil. However i also like 2 have a 'Conversation' w viewers. So to encourage this i often 'name' the doodle. Suddenly by defining the scribble it almost gives folks permission to comment & offer their perspective & input. Luckily i am not swayed either way w this conversation but i do love a forum for ideas & this usually turns into even more optimistic exercises allowing me to continue discovering the unknown & undrawn. Quite frankly i am lucky since i can draw & create any reality i choose... for me the visual possibilities r truly endless. Yep, Eternity is the limit.

Yesterday I saw my good friend and I went to the park(I see her all the time but this time our mom and little siblings came) and it was just like old times we played laser tag with the littles, and talked, and swung on swings and climbed trees and it was so fun so I drew us afterwards. I also drew our masks halfway on so we could see our faces. I HATE COVID! I also really dislike wearing masks and distancing and stuff so this is a way of getting around that. Idk if that makes sense.

The First Glorious Mystery: The Resurrection! While Jesus' body was entombed he descended into the Underworld in order to free and bring to heaven all the righteous that died before Him. Jesus is victorious over death, Robed in Heavenly white, He is surrounded by a mandorla of star-studded light, representing the Glory of God. Christ is shown dramatically pulling Adam, the first man, and Eve from the tomb. Jesus does the work, that is why He is pulling Adam from the tomb by the wrist, and not the hand. Surrounding him are Holy Men and Women of the Old testament and who died before. St. Joseph is also there almost saying to the others "That's my boy! :)" Haha. John the Baptist and King David are present. On the other side we have little Abel next to Eve, Judith with her sword, Esther in royal purple and Ruth. I'd like to include even more but I'll need a much bigger piece of paper or canvas. :P This Icon is also called the "Harrowing of Hades" “Harrow” comes from the Old English word used to describe the ploughing of a field with a cultivator which is dragged roughly over the ground, churning it up. In the icon, Christ is shown with the instrument of His death plunged deep into Hades. Beneath Christ’s feet – which still carry the marks of His crucifixion – lay the gates of Hades, smashed wide open in the shape of the Cross. Christ has trampled death by death. Within the dark underworld are scattered broken chains and locks; Hades is not destroyed – it is still there – but its power to bind people is gone. There are no chains, no locked doors. I took too long of a break from drawing, but so far this is coming out well. I've tried to go for a sci-fi theme, which is my favorite genre, but definitely not where my strengths are. Criticism, critiques, and suggestions are very much welcome! Also I'm going to have to find a new way of uploading my work.

This is one of my favorite pieces. This was inspired by Repo! The Genetic Opera, but it means a lot more to me as well. Feelings of desperation and also a feeling of self control that really isn't there. Forcing myself to smile and all the while, feeling hollow inside.

Bee populations are rapidly declining around the world and there are many reasons to save the bees, but here are three of the most important: 1. Bees play a crucial role in our ecosystem. They help pollinate plants, which is necessary for us and other animals to survive. If there were no bees, we would lose many types of fruits and vegetables. 2. Bees also play an important role in our economy. Honey is a popular sweetener, and bee pollen is used as a dietary supplement. There are also many products that use beeswax as an ingredient. All of these products would be more expensive without the work of bees. 3. Finally, it’s simply important to protect all forms of life on Earth. We need to do everything we can to make sure that future generations will be able to enjoy nature’s beauty and bounty just as much as we do today.
