Daily Painting Challenge 4 - argyle
Following the daily painting challenge with Lisa Congdon over at CreativeBug though I haven't quite managed to keep up daily. Still, it's wonderful picking the brush up again and splashing around with paint!
I took over as organizer of a Ladies Wine & Design group. Recently, I attended a grand opening of a co-working space, alone. I received some “compliments” that I’m not sure were compliments. To quote Chris Griffin: “I’m so awkward!?!”
For day 15 the inktober word was weak so I decided to approach the subject of hunting for trophies.
It is not the animal that's weak it's the human that's cruel.
A lot of species become endangered because of our need to kill. We should love and protect all the animals, not put them on walls (real or virtual) only for our pleasure and ego.
(2B pencil on an A7 page) This is one of eight images I used in a small booklet I made about "The Little Black Book" and the contacts and comments people would write in such address books. This one is of a pirate. Others include a superhero, an alien, a witch, an angel, and a cat. Maia, one of two current German Shepherds was born here at our house ten years ago. She is a grand old lady with a big ears, a big ruff and a sweet personality. This drawing was done from a photo reference AND her sleeping at my feet. I used Pigma Micron Pens in black and brown with a little graphite smudging to add a bit of shadow.
