This is the third page of my attempt at 100 heads, this is Ra the sun god from the original Stargate movie. I was gifted a VHS cassette tape from “santa” back in the mid nineties, of which I still have. I watched that movie so many times my parents nearly burned the tape…
“Following the sun, to find the one / Who's giving you the wings to fly… / Following the sun, like everyone / Searching for a sign of hope…” — Song lyrics by Enigma. Watercolor, ink and colour pencil on watercolour paper
In real it's a meteor shower. But our imagination allows us to create fantastic images.
I love stars. I love landscapes. So it's a final illustration of these both with a fine whimsy touch :)
Day 5 of #whimsicalByMamaminia art challenge.
From our little part of the world to yours, warmest winter wishes! This piece was created 'Just For Fun' with Colored Pencils. It was so relaxing and enjoyable to doodle one house each evening!
Mommy tree and her daughter.
I hope they'll always be close to each other.
Pushing yourself to the next level is a great experience. I did it today by drawing this illustration.
It's what happened to me:
- I created effects I've never done before,
- my creativity reached its new highs,
- I developed new painting skills,
- I'm still feeling amazing.
Day 4 of #whimsicalByMamaminia art challenge.
Colorful drawing of a scene of Studio Ghibli's film "Howl's Moving Castle", Sophie and Howl's kissing
Reference: screenshot of the movie scene
Techniques: brush pens on regular paper
This time I managed to get the result I had planned.
I made a second attempt at drawing a magic tree. There is much more detail in this illustration. I'm satisfied.
It was a great opportunity to develop my drawing skills.
The result is not as good as I imagined. But anyway I want to share it, because:
- others may find it great,
- art taste is subjective,
- even if it's bad, you can receive a constructive critique or tips on how to improve it.
Don't be afraid to share your failures. They push you forward. You can learn a lot from them.
I'm starting a new art challenge #whimsicalByMamaminia
Art challenges are an excellent way to stay motivated. They are great for creating consistently in one style.
I fell in love with gouache paintings with a whimsy touch when I discovered Ruth Wilshaw.
It's my first attempt at creating an illustration with a whimsical accent
on paper #2-6 pencil b and h
(Idk if it looks like or not, but hindsight no regrets. Take care. Wouldn't do it again. Shared if it was so desired as like a scrapbook quality what i think. Best I could do. I apologize. Beat that c. Take care.)
