Bearskullpine
1/3

Bearskullpine A new bigger version of my earlier drawing In the Finnish mythology killing of a bear was followed by a great feast in honour of the bear (peijaiset), where a substantial part of the celebrations consisted of convincing the bear's spirit that it had died accidentally and hadn't been murdered. Afterwards, the bear's skull was hung high upon a pine tree so its spirit could re-enter the heavens. The bones of the bear were then buried under the pine.

aimery stone

been revisiting some older characters of mine. this one's a kid called aimery who goes to this american boarding school called emerson. he leads a fairly mundane life, resemblant of today's average high schooler, until a boy called oak shows up as an australian exchange student for the year. turns out oak's a ghosty magic witchy person who "frees" ghosts, or releases them from their non-material but conscious form into complete nonexistence. in short, aimery becomes attached before oak's untimely death.

Wow it's been 10 days already I'm very much impressed with myself for keeping this up. I had an American dad marathon and saw a butterfly in one of the episodes and the drawing prompt I've been using said to draw a snowglobe so i combined the two together.

I have been in bed all day and I didn't know what to draw so I used the drawing prompt again and it told me to draw a sword and I decided to draw a little shape design behind it to add some flair

CD cover for my new album Junkyard Sam - OUTCAST

It's been a weird couple of years where social media became so toxic I'm just not online much. This place isn't like that so I have no excuse! So here's the CD cover for my new album "Junkyard Sam - OUTCAST", now available on Soundcloud & Spotify.

I’ve been going through a bit of an art slump lately, but I finally got myself to pick up the pencil and finish this. My reference photo was a bit grainy so had some trouble with that, but overall I’m pretty pleased with how it turned out. Done in graphite, drawing itself is about 5x6 in

Life has been an absolute hell-hole lately; I often tell myself to cling on; but for what? There will be nothing waiting for me at the end, if I piece things back together. Please do not take any of this seriously. I often can't.

Spider Man

WOW, is there really a movie that we have all been waiting for! Spider-man: No Way Home is already on the screens of cinemas. Stock up on popcorn and soda, something really exciting is in store for us! In the meantime, we have prepared a small gift for the day of the premiere. Zendaya has been a godsend for this franchise! Amazing actress, a wonderful singer, and a gorgeous woman! She can rightfully be called one of the icons of the outgoing year. Looking forward to seeing her in the new movie! And who is your favorite actor in Spider-man? Feel free to comment below!

St. Joseph of Cupertino

My Art is a form of prayer. I need the Flying Friar's intercession! He is the patron of Students and Exams! Exams are on the way and I feel so underprepared. Please pray for me everybody! St. Joseph of Cupertino, pray for us! So someone might ask how could this man fly? Well I'll answer that with a quote from someone on why the angels fly: “Angels can fly because they can take themselves lightly. This has been always the instinct of Christendom, and especially the instinct of Christian art. ...The tattered cloak of the beggar will bear him up like the rayed plumes of the angels. But the kings in their heavy gold and the proud in their robes of purple will all of their nature sink downwards, for pride cannot rise to levity or levitation. Pride is the downward drag of all things... One "settles down" into a sort of selfish seriousness; but one has to rise to a [joyful] self-forgetfulness. ... solemnity flows out of men naturally; but laughter is a leap. It is easy to be heavy: hard to be light. Satan fell by the force of gravity.” - G.K. Chesterton So let's be little, forget about ourselves and make a leap of laughter! and one day we will fly with the angels! ^_^ #stjosephofcupertino, #saint, #joseph, #cupertino, #catholic, #saints, #christian, #flying, #fly, #levitate, #levitation, #angel, #angels, #G.K.Chesterton, #Chesterton, #gkchesterton, #laugh, #Laughter, #littleness, #spiritualchildhood, #art, #digitalart

Medusa has always been one of my favorite mythology figures . And ... well, here comes the rant , I'll never quite forgive Athena for making her like this . Ironically, I've only really seen Medusa in her monster form , and this form , in all its unique fierceness , is what I've always been attracted to . I know I'll probably get a lot pf flack for this ... so I'll just quit while I'm ahead . Enjoy the cute pic .

Terror and Peace

This painting started out as a pumpkin design for the Chads Ford, Pennsylvania, Historical Society’s Great Pumpkin Carve, which I have been participating in for the last eleven years. What inspired me to turn the design into a lasting painting was the message, made the design so relevant. It seems the message, which echoes louder and louder as each day passes; the force of heaven and hell are coming out of the dark and into the daylight. The dove in the painting has always been used in mankind’s history to represent hope, peace, and the symbol of the Holy Spirit. The sun in the Bible is called the greater light that governs the day. So, I used dove and the sun to represent the spiritual force of the heavenly kingdom that is seen and unseen in our world. The bat is known as a creature of the night, thought to be a foul creature that people fear. The moon in the Bible is called the lesser light, which was created to govern the night, to give light on to the earth at night. Nighttime is mentioned in the Bible as when men do their evil deeds. Before man invented methods to light the street and people’s homes, people limited their activity at night due to the absence of light. People with superstitious beliefs believe that demonic creature dwelt in the shadow and would attack them if they stepped out of the light. Another historical fact is that bandits would hide in the dark and rob night travelers. People also worked while it was daylight, then would party, get drunk, and sleep around at night. The Bible mentions that those who reject God’s Messiah do not come into the light because their deeds are evil, and they don’t want them to be exposed. So I chose to use the bat and the moon to symbolize the dark evil kingdom of the fallen angels. 168 The reason why the two creatures converge in the middle is because mankind is the centerpiece that both sides are contesting for. Man kind, in the beginning, was created as a holy creation. But just as Satan decided he was going to exalt himself above His Creator, he went to the rest of the angels to get them to join his army to dethrone God. When Satan and his army lost the battle for the heavenly kingdom, He turned his eyes to conquering the earthly realm by tempting mankind, who God had gifted the deed of the earth to. The devil possesses a snake to hold a conversation with man to deceive them into distrusting God and leading them to disobey the commandment from God not to eat from The Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. This is how man became the middle battleground. God’s force is battling to restore mankind back to fellowship with God and regain their citizenship in God’s eternal kingdom. Satan and his army of fallen angels work on deceiving, afflicting, and destroying mankind in hope of taking as many as his army can drag to the eternal lake of fire, where God will throw everyone who has denounced Him as their God and king. Demonica, again

My drawings lately have been more pixelated because I've been drawing on a different software than usual. I've been drawing on aggie.io with my friend, which is where I do most of my drawings because I am otherwise unmotivated. This will be changing soon! I got a new computer with a TV for a monitor! It's way easier to draw and runs much faster.

Technique Progress

I’m often asked about my Bic pen drawings and how I do them. It starts with a good foundational drawing, the ballpoint pen part is just trying to colour within the lines. I try to do my best to explain the process, but the best way to show my progress is by posting my efforts to master pen drawings over the span of 3 or so years. I have been doodling/drawing with ballpoint pens as far back as I can remember - they were cheap, readily available and always lying around the house. It wasn’t until I was bored during a particularly long team meeting-conference call (around 2016-17) that I started to think about the possibilities of ballpoint pens as serious portrait illustration tools. My first experiments with full colour ink portrait drawings were rather crude, but that’s the point of learning new techniques—as long as the curiosity and the love of drawing is there, you can transfer that skill and passion into any medium. Remember, the most exquisite drawings and paintings you see didn’t materialise fully formed, they started out as failed experiments. Failure after failure after failure. It’s important to remember this when you get discouraged (I've failed spectacularly over the years). The only difference between the accomplished artist and the beginner is hundreds of hours of practice. Talent can only get you so far. It’s the hard work that you do behind the scenes that makes your work look effortless. Keep doodling. Keep learning. Stay curious.

The David Bennent Effect, November 2021.

1979’s The Tin Drum is one of those films I’ve been itching to see for a long time, but haven’t got round to yet for some reason. The main character in that film’s played by a guy called David Bennent. Not a household name for most, but you’ve seen Ridley Scott’s Legend, you’ll recognise him when he played Honeythorn Gump, Tom Cruise/Jack’s elfin pal. Not sure why the idea to name this piece after D.B. occurred to me, but it did!
