After Inktober I thought I’d try out a daily logo challenge “Logovember” which isn’t easy with the holidays happening . Here is one of the ideas. Each design started with a simple doodle that I then created in Adobe Illustrator.

Here is a watercolor piece I made so I can relax, have fun with textures and my gold ink. It is meant to illustrate how those olive tree leaves shimer in the light of day.

Geometric pen drawing detailed with stippling. What started out as a simple mountain doodle turned out to be a bit more chaotic than I'd anticipated but I like the end result!

Hey everyone, sorry for such a long hiatus! The main reason is that I haven't been drawing so I had nothing to post. I also went through a name change, from BurningCinders to Umbra! For this piece, I played around with some new brushes and attempted to play with fog for the first time.

Sometimes we just need a bit of encouragement to push us along the way. Sometimes life is hard and it does more than give you lemons. Cry, vent and release your frustration in a healthy way, but try and stay strong. You will be glad you did :)

Designing has it's own direction...

This tree is right outside the balcony at my parents' home. I can spend hours just starting at the fronds. This must be the fourth or fifth time I've sketched out.

Cover for a short graphic novel I made for my final project at design school.

The other day I saw pictures of a Russian gala beginning of the 1900. The royalty was wearing extravagant beautiful clothing and they inspired this piece. Due to the card stock used and the subject I also decided to not use color but leave it at black, white and dark Grey. I would love feedback as I adore how it turned out. Is essence this to me was partially a study on the fashion of Russia in the 1900 as well as a chance to play around with 'colored' paper and how to use black and white to make most of what I had with me. I hope to make another piece like this again in the future, hopefully have it perhaps even more extravagant. This piece was made using. Here's some artwork of a friend's fursona (she doesn't have Doodle Addicts), her name is Whisper!

These are the results from a request to create a piece based on a fathers son's nicknames. The older brother is the moon, second the bear, third the bird. Added the stars as the parents. His first request was of a tattoo of sorts ...but I struggled and my drawings kept turning into children illustrations. I so enjoyed the challenge and it gave me an opportunity to honor the love of family. At the same time, it was hard to associate them into a tattoo:) .

This piece was created using graphite. It demonstrates the struggles of those who suffer from mental illnesses on the inside and on the outside.

I drank some wine and ate some Chinese food and listened to some music and finally threw up in ink on this paper for your indifferent judgement.

Did a doodle sketch. Didn’t really know where this idea was going when I started it then it grew into a kind of cityscape sunset in the end. I was trying to sort of do a bridge around the buildings in an abstract unidimensional way. Well thought it was creative and different in the end.
