dog

The one that guards home.

Have you ever woken up from begging "I wanna pee-pee" whimpering closely to your ear? Or from a barking alarm because the birds are singing loudly outside? Yea-ah, dogs are the best alarm clocks... We're sure you'll have a woof-derful week, guys!

A watercolor portrait of my best friends dog

Another little practice run - drawings from my head with no sketching beforehand. A bit risky, but results can astonish.

Casey the Puppet. This painting captures the essence of a puppet lots of older Canadians will remember. A strange genderless creature with a dog puppet companion. A puppet with an outspoken personality that I remember as a kid wondering how it got away with saying what it did. The painting has a Canadian stamp to commemorate the puppet's roots.

Saw this brown bunny this evening while walking my dog, and doodled it.

"Love is patient, love is kind. It is not jealous, love is not pompous, it is not inflated, it is not rude, it does not seek its own interests, it is not quick-tempered, it does not brood over injury, it does not rejoice over wrongdoing but rejoices with the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.” 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 (NABRE)

Sadness

Satch’s perhaps the most resourceful dog on the planet. His legs are fast, his nose is keen, his mind is set, but the world has grown too complicated for a dog even as well-equipped as Satch. His owners got lost and he does not know how to find them in this never-ending maze of smells and sounds. Thankfully, he stumbled upon Neal. He will know what to do.

20” x 10” acrylic

I made a collage of my favourite tree, a baobab, using postage stamps. The wild dog puppy seemed to creep in from somewhere!

Fineliner portrait of Bracken, a German Sheppard Labrador cross

This is my crazy, wild, and extroverted Australian Shepherd. Her name is Tasi. I have found myself pretty busy during the quarantine and haven’t done much art. Hopefully I can find a schedule and upload more frequently.
