In a funk, but getting out of it quick.

Happy June one and all.

My take on this month’s “Draw Me A Robot” challenge!

Been aching to draw one of these for a while now! Can’t knock goblin sharks, that’s for sure.

Whenever I’m channel surfing, I often find myself stumbling into a film midway through it’s running time, and tend to stick around if there’s elements that pique my curiosity and just catch my eye etc. My Girl 2, of all films, was one of them this time around. A line about “barbaric customs” or roundabouts prompted me to pick up my drawing kit...and here we are!

All hearts are good ones (let's hope).

Rainy day creative goings-on.

Like Bruce from Finding Nemo, they intended on having fish tonight...they succeeded.

Fantasy (of the more pronounced variety) is the order of things here.

A spot of midnight improvisation and general creative spontaneity.

Was initially going to try coffee painting with this one, but that clearly wasn’t happening... Hence the mentioning of divorce here, it being my expectations being split from the reality this time around. Still, things worked out in the end!

*Irn-Bru vibes a go-go here* As the wee small hours approach, I finally get round to testing the Washi tape I picked up last Sunday...

Caffeine rushes are essential to creativity (at least here!).

New sketchbook time! Onwards to new doodling-flavoured adventures... Keeping it simple to start things off (as is custom).

A couple of beers, thoughts in my head about lockdown easing and Radiohead lingering in the background while I work = stuff like this.

Keeping one's head above the water in times of crisis...

Saw this missing cat poster whilse out running errands the other day which started off with the sentence "Answers to Esme", and those words have been circling around in my head ever since. Naturally, the end product here had little to do with the finished artwork!

And that finishes things off with my current sketchbook! Here's to what the next one brings :)

Dinosaur doodling is the way of things today.

Sleep well David Bowie, and thanks for all the inspiration! Saw this comment on one of Iggy Pop’s music videos via YouTube and had to create something based around it, spelling mistakes and all...

To be perfectly honest, the latest lockdown announcement here in Scotland was bound to influence my art in some form or another... Needless to say this is going to be one looooong winter, one that’ll have me blasting “Here Comes The Sun” by The Beatles once it ends, or at the very least stabilises.

More toffee tinted, if anything.

Reflecting on the current pandemic, only to realise things this time last year gave plenty of us something to gripe about too... How times seemed simpler then.

Current events mean retreating into my sketchbook is the way of things today, until it blows over(ish, emphasis on the -ish).

Improvising a thing or two centred around krakens and all things cephalopod flavoured :)

Was itching to play along with the “Draw Me A Robot” challenge for a while now! Not much I can say about this, pretty spontaneous to say the least... Definitely wanted to add some sort of low fidelity edge to things though.
