..what is so funny m’dear? Or are you just having a laughing fit? Antigone is either laughing at something either genuinely funny or just a fit but either way those swim trunks. Had this pose sketched out years ago and just finally figured out what to do with it. Ten years later…if not more.

These are seashells that I copied out from Dana Fox’s (In the Ocean) book. They were fun but it was also challenging trying to capture the likeness and texture of seashells.

Fun with felts

In the style of Lucien Freud, this little painting didn't take long, but was fun and an accurate representation of the model. Plus size models are often just as interesting as many of the thinner models we got in drawing sessions. Beauty exists for different people in different ways. Character is certainly a big aspect.

Hello! :) Drawing this was really fun. I was working on it in different places. In our living room, on the balcony aand at the beach. My sister, my mum and I went on our first road trip together. I feel so grateful that we did that together. Drawing digitally outside while the sun is shining is fun. I mean i dont always see everything on the screen but yeeah;) Thank you for reading. Hello hello!:)my friends helped me with posing for me so that I can take reference pictures of them for the drawings. It was so much fun. I absolutly love them and that inspired me for drawing this. This is the centre section of a cartoon I did back in my university days for the student newspaper. It was fun to do, but took a lot of time. I hope to put it into a collection of comics.

Someone challenged me to draw an aspect of thought today and I wasn't sure how to approach it but this is what it ended up like

Maybe this is about consumerism, or exploitation of resources - who knows - I don't want to be too serious. I just want to have fun - and eat tonnes and tonnes of ice-cream!

In my Blue Star sketchbook serious art has been interrupted by two cartoon characters I came up with years ago that I drew for my university student newspaper. They're back! Adolescent silliness returns with the adventures of Hardball and Riley. There's a bit of allegory at work in this story, so it's not as infantile as it first seems. They are certainly fun and my main characters are very easy to draw. I do sometimes spend too much time on the background.

Fun fact about these birds, they often lay their eggs in other birds nests to be raised.

This started as a pen line drawing (with Skura Pigma micron pen) which I then painted with Dr PH Martin's Hydrus watercolors. They are fun and very bright. This is on Strathmore 300 11x17 Bristol paper.
