My grandma is a craftswoman . She used to work at a Talavera pottery studio and sometimes I would skip school and join her at work. She would give me an imperfect blank pottery piece and lend me her painting supplies so I could create my own art.
A 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle I recently painted as as gift for my grandma on her 85th birthday, using objects and photos of significance from her life. :)
it is a zentangle that I worked very hard on while on a car ride with my grandma papa and my mother in the grocery store in a building and in the car. those spikes are the sun and so is that arch. it is supposed to be a sunset. the humps are the ground /hills. thank you for your views, likes, and followers! thank you for your support!!!
Clemence's and Calamity's 130 year old grandma,candy people are known to age slower than other food people and often appear younger than they look.all three of them live with each other in harmony Grandma loves jokes but she is often forgetful but at the same time she can be silly and wise.Food people can live up to be 150 except for fruit and vegetable people since they age very quick while plant people live to 200 and object people live to be 100,Grandma has named her mobility chair Rodster since she tends to go very quickly on her chair especially when going out in public,Calamity painted a lightning bolt on Rodster on both sides.
Yay! It's my Birthday! (Toon Link Windwaker style!). Hard to believe I'm 35 already :o (Oct. 29, 1986). All the seminarians sang happy birthday to me in english when I got my morning coffee. heh. My painted interpretation of a large quilt my grandma made and stitched by hand decades ago using upcycled shirts. It’s gotten a lot of use and is showing the wear and tear that a well loved quilt will show on a long enough timeline. Still, I can’t bring myself to put it away for long. While a piece of me thinks I should keep it safe and preserved, my grandma is a practical woman that likes knowing something she made is getting good use. A sentiment I can appreciate. And so, maybe I can extend it’s life through watercolor.
Ta-da! Finally done! This was inspired by my annual back to school shopping trip in August with my mom, my siblings, and my grandma. The sign is a bit of a clue to that, the heart is similar for he logo of one of my favorite stores (until they closed last month), and the tan thing in the corner reminds me of the dusty playground we stop at between stores. The hair clip, butterflies, and purple corner (it's really a hair extension) are all from my favorite accessory store. The railing is for the walkway between stores and I don't really have to explain the shirt, skirt, pants, and shopping bag. No trip is complete without a bucket of pretzels to eat on the way home! Anyway, I hope you like my art!
