Pencil drawing

Another cat drawing, as there's no such thing as too many cats.

As usual I struggled to get a true likeness, but that notwithstanding, I was still pleased with the result. HB, 5B and 9B graphite pencils on smooth cartridge drawing paper, size A3.

I miss having old-school, beautifully fucked up dreams that make zero sense whatsoever. One I had earlier this week met those standards of surrealism and more!

It’s one of my OC’s (her name is Annie, short for Anabella). She has heterochromia, meaning she has 2 colored eyes, and I tried to match the butterflies with the color of the eye on the opposite side. The angle is supposed to be from above, with her laying down, and her hair spread out.

Thinking ahead to loosening restrictions here in Scotland, one more day to go...

New sketchbook time! Had to throw in a shark. No idea why, just did :)

Lucy Gray Baird of the Covey Baird! I finished this one a while ago, but I haven't uploaded in ages... This is maybe my fourth piece of digital artwork? Anyway, the shading was really fun, as was the pose.

I figured it'd be a while until I draw (in full detail) ALL of the Altitone band members, so I made each one a sprite. Their names are (from left to right): (The first one is a base), Elizabeth the hot pink cat, Preistor the sky blue rabbit, Altor the golden bear, Bruce the green mouse, Lexibo the violet elephant, Mary the short red fox, Dexter the blue-gray Racoon DJ, and the three cheerleaders: Rosette the crimson mouse, Oopsie the russet fox, and Pastelle the cotton candy short-eared rabbit. On the very bottom are the instruments. In order, they are Elizabeth's mic, Preistor's guitar, Altor's drum set, Bruce's mic, Lexibo's piano, Mary's oil drum (not an instrument, but Mary hides her bottom half in the oil drum, sort of like Looney Bird from The Rock-afire Explosion (which is why she has no legs)), and Dexter's DJ board. The last three are cheerleaders, and their hands have been replaced with cheerleading pom poms. On stage left, we have Dexter and Mary. On the center stage, we have Preistor, Altor, Lexibo, Elizabeth, and Bruce. On stage right is Rosette, Oopsie, and Pastelle. Made with Piskel. (If you're wondering where Jester and Dellusion are, they aren't band members --- but rather seperate attractions (and Jester doesn't even perform.))

Stingray is an arrogant, slippery prodigy, part of Frostbite's Renegade unit. His power or specialty is his barbed tail drenched in either a tranquilizer or the Renegades' neutralizing agent, Agent N, which removes a prodigy's ability - permanently.

Another addition to the people who have static for a head. I haven't mentioned it before, but the little gray things around their neck are just to make their scars of when their heads were torn off prettier. I think I'm going to call her Emily.

Spotted these two squirrels while out walking during spring 2018. The highly entertaining pair were exceptionally easy to photograph. NOTE: I'm working on how to make a better digital image of my artwork. Will get there--sorry for the gray background.

The Mexican wolf (Canis lupus baileyi) is a subspecies of gray wolf once native to southeastern Arizona, southern New Mexico, western Texas and northern Mexico. Its ancestors were likely the first gray wolves to enter North America after the extinction of the Beringian wolf, as indicated by its southern range and basal physical and genetic characteristics. Glaucomys sabrinus, northern flying squirrel has belly fur that is gray at the base. Flying squirrels might more appropriately be called “gliding squirrels” because they aren’t capable of true powered flight that a pterosaur, a bird or a bat can do. Took a loong time to get this one done. Thought using color pencils in background would look cool and it kinda does but it takes way long to do it. Anyways, how would you rate it on a scale of 1 to 10? MHX out!!

I think I kind of cheated by adding a bit of yellow and gray, but I do like how it turned out. I usually don't make many pieces like this, and there wasn't much of a plan going into this. It was a bit refreshing to do this.
