I started a new job, and it's leaving no time for daily art :( . I've decided to set aside a couple hours each week, though. Last night I did a drop in to an online portrait class, and I really liked the result of one of the warmups. Maybe all efforts should be 10 min!

This is my old roommate's dog, while she had an upset stomach. Don't worry! She was fine that night (after making a little mess for me to clean up). But for a couple of hours, poor thing lay on the couch looking like she'd just lost her job.

Small doodles on post-it notes to kill the time in an annoying job years ago. I came across these while moving houses recently.

Unfortunately, I broke up and separated with my girlfriend prior to Christmas. If there is an upside, it is that moving by myself has led me going through old work I’d packed up in various boxes - not opened for years. This is just an abstract biro doodle (+ markers for colour) I doodled, while working in a stupid telephone interview job in my early 20s.

I didn't love the first colour job, so I tried a new colour scheme, and fell in love! This is it, my new DM screen!

A job done for a script test

Back in May, I wanted to do the #mermaychallenge, an online event where artists draw and share their mermaid illustrations during the entire month of May. But I knew I had limited time, with everything happening that month (buying new home/moving/fixing up the old home to sell), and a fulltime job. I created Mer-Kat, a hybrid kitten/mermaid. I felt this was such a fun new character to explore. Life underwater with a feline-based personality.

This is my second doodle room request for exhibition. Also my first international doodle job!

A3 format, acrylic, felt pen, colored pencils Visual artists from the World of Fantasy are familiar with these creatures who are alive to every creator. Their court cannot be affected, there is no way to deceive the inner voice that knows the truth, created by the Observers. When the artist starts with some work, they appear, at first in a small number. At the end of their work, eg some pictures or sculptures, and especially when finished, their number is significant, they carefully study the artwork, and if they see a mistake, disharmony, lack of emotions, etc., dissatisfied will grumble somewhere inside artist's insights. The artist will feel that his work is nothing special, similar to many other artistic attempts that disappear in the dark of forgetfulness. Some spark is missing in his artistic creation, which would do its job gave a life that lasts. The disapproval of the Observer, their unpleasant resonance, if frequent, it can make a more sensitive artist to dump the brush and consecrate himself a completely different job, in which self-criticism does not play a significant role.

Above us were an old, large yew tree as created to keep us from the strong sun and the negative energy. Below the meadow was stretched by which a dozen young dragons rode along and across, skillfully changed the direction of movement and twisted with their long bodies, they played hunting. Hidden in the crown of a large oak tree near us, pointed snake watched their game with their big green eyes, but I noticed that she quickly dropped into sleep. Then I remember that I did not do some important jobs yesterday, Čirilo Bum will definitely see it when we get home. It spoils my mood a bit, and I pulled out of the baskets a few of the dried sausages that the old wizard worked so well. Full stomach I always better mood. - There are rare opportunities to see the Big Redbeak - suddenly spoke Cirilo Bum - bird right now wants to snatch egg. I stared for a while around so Čirilo Bum says: I said Big. And indeed, I find him so big that several other creatures sought accommodation in his body. Cirilo Bum spent almost all day hovering in the crown of the old yew, napping with a satisfied look on his face. Every time I was constantly tortured by the fact that I would have to listen, a critic of the old wizard, when we come home because of my unsolved tasks. My nervousness I softened so that I ate all the food from the basket. Late in the afternoon, we went home, from the trees they began to descend some new, hitherto unseen beings in search for food or night hideout. Spirit of water was gone, but a good part of the way, perhaps from curiosity, we were followed by other inhabitants of the World of Fantasy, were to me welcome companions, I took my thoughts with them, to the house. This is part of my daily Sketchgrind day 11. That's how I felt when I quit my job working in a highly competitive office job in the financial sector and started to work full time as an artist. I needed to practice some techniques for some Star Wars prints, so I decided I was going to try to draw The Joker in a more modern tux. Don’t ask, it makes sense in my head. There are a bunch of anatomical errors in this, but it did its job so I'm not too worried about it.

Progression 5 of 5. Final Drawing. Overall, satisfied with how this came out. I should have done a better job of the hard lines, especially around the skin. Also, my vision for the background didn't come out quite as planned, but I didn't want it to draw the eye more than the main focus, so I left it lighter and vague. There were a lot of Nike symbols in this piece!

I feel kind of lost these days... I am an artist, this is who I am and this is the only thing I wanna be, but can I really do it? Can you do this, even though everyone around you say it's impossible? Do they all have a point when they say that "but you are so smart!!! Why would you wanna waist it and be an artist" thing? Other people may see my job as a dream job, but I hate it.. all I want to do is create, be an artist, be me. But is it really possible?...

Over the course of a few months, I got to work with Good Karma For All on what you might consider a "passion project". The job consisted of freehand painting murals on every single (large) wall and hand-lettering inspirational quotes all over the inside and outside of the building.
