“The truth of it is, if you paint or draw what really interests you, you’re going to do a good job of it, and hopefully that’s what I do.” - Jim Moir.

After a productive couple of days, it’s a Mark Lanegan and manga kind of night here.

Something very much Edinburgh flavoured here!

Having a go at something other than narwhals and belugas today... bowhead whales namely! I really like how this one turned out. :-)

Full moons and whale songs.

A bit of art therapy from this time last week after an overheated and, at times, shit-tacular day at work = the best kind of therapy.

More whale songs for the winter time.

Let’s hope…

I keep seeing the word 'binary' crop up a lot in various discourses I’ve caught a glance at recently, whether it pertains to discussions around things like cancel culture or countless other things too numerous to mention. Funny what the lack of a middle ground these days does to certain people, irrespective of their political/ethical viewpoints...

Journey Journal pages 3 and 4. An illuminated collage of introspectionism from my travels through Osaka and Kyoto, Japan.

Well well, what do we have here?

Figured I’d try my hand at something fan art flavoured for this one… namely in the form of my favourite tiny fictional character, Kirby! I can’t ascertain when exactly I became a fan of the Kirby franchise, although playing Super Smash Bros as a young boy may have something to do with that. Whatever the case, I got hooked on the pink (or blue in some cases) puffball very quickly!

Whale, shark or warrior-esque dolphin? Heck, even I’m not too sure... This one turned out well and that’s what matters most, so enjoy!

Rainy days = a perfect excuse for a shedload of coffee and drawing to indulge in. :) Occurs to me I did one with the title “Laurel Weaver” close to four years ago. Not much else connects the two beyond the title or does it? I don’t know... Whatever the case, I fancied recycling and revisiting this idea somehow. Enjoy!

Sunday night whale songs.

Whale songs in space time? Indeed it is.

Tidbits of things overheard in the pub earlier this week when I was short of inspiration = this.

Another assembly, inspired by Japanese ASMR videos my girlfriend and I love to binge watch. :-)

And that concludes another sketchbook! New one incoming...

It is what it is, as they say...

They tend to be, well most of the time...

Time and space and wizarding things.

Yet more Washi tape has been acquired!

New sketchbook time!

Caffeine-induced crazy.

More sharks in space!

Spooky whale time! And a touch of Mark Lanegan flavoured listening material also...

Post-work coffee shop doodling time!

Sharks galore!
