Sometimes I just start throwing lines on top of lines. Today was such a day, fusing, intermingling, and vomiting lines up onto the page. (I originally titled this "Dreams in Digital" but then I was like "no one has heard Orgy's second album but you. Please abandon this late-1990s alt-rock persona. Live in the now.")
Every day in 2017 I drew in a Moleskine Japanese (Accordion Fold) Album (pocket size) with the goal of completing one continuous drawing all year. I filled up nearly six complete sketchbooks, completing a drawing that is 5.5 inches high and more than 600 inches wide. Now, what do I do with it?
Rabbits thorns and moons. I usual don’t know where I’m going when my pen touches down. The illustration took me for a ride and I’m not gonna lie. I kinda enjoyed it. As it progressed, it felt like an album cover so why not?
Watercolor/india ink/acrylic 140 lb Strathmore 500 series hot press. First time on this quality of paper, what a joy to paint on great paper. I will be trying my Arches hot press next.
Pasted in my art journal. I had to "stretch" the 98 lb canson xl watercolor paper first. I'm new to this, but finally got it right. started to "buckle" a bit while painting then flattened back out when dry, but kept it taped down till dry. lots to lea
I doodled on an IKEA lampshade. The bulb blew though, so I replaced it with my phone on the inside while using a colorful flashlight app. Video can be seen on my Instagram (@girlagrafi).
Archeology museum sort of. Albuquerque. Watercolor and ink on paper that no artist should use for watercolor. Looking for sketchbook that is good for ink and watercolor???
