Another half-assed attempt at doing SOMETHING "underground- like". Meh. Magic marker on sketchbook paper. (I still like the name, though.) Late 70's...

A first an questionably worthwhile attempt at pointillism. 18x24 illustration board with technical pen and probably some magic marker.

18X24 watercolor paper, magic marker, technical pen, pencil. Blended with a Q-Tip cotton swab.

The second in a series of two, and the final. Cartooning is HARD!

Hmmm....trying to be a cartoonist. Late 1980's. Markers on card stock

Ripped from the pages of my School Of Visual Arts sketchbook and pasted onto black cardboard . Late 1980's....probably 1989.

Pen and ink on vellum bristol.

Magic marker, sketchbook. 1970's

Markers on sketchbook paper. 1970's. Thought I was going become the next Robert Crumb. Oh well...

I'm drawing lots of pairs of things for make art that sells bootcamp.

Something meaningful and hippie-like.

Digital is great -- for composition and color. But for line art? I don't think I can ever give up the fountain pen. This was drawn with a Sailor King of Pen (M) and Sailor 1911L (EF) fountain pens using Pilot Black ink. Yes, sacrilege. Pilot ink in a Sailor. But I have some Kiwa Guro arriving soon!

Something belated.

a little piece of my final project for the February mats bootcamp assignment

"When this guy was chosen as a host he felt like such a winner. But what he didn't know is these things would eat him up for dinner."

I drew these guys with a Pilot Custom 823 FA and Platinum Carbon Black ink. The FA nib has a good drawing width on watercolor paper - one of my favorites. It's a soft nib but I don't use the line variation, just some nice shock absorption with each downstroke. The Carbon Black ink is out-of-this-world good, though being pigmented I fear keeping it in too many pens.

Cartoons old and gold just keep on inspiring me.

A4 test piece for A2 piece to come. Playing with colour

A Holiday card I made this past Christmas. Check out the GIF animation of it on my website :)

Here comes the doodle caravan. It's getting close. Can't wait to see what everyone uploads.

The caravan is coming to town. I hope everyone hops on.

"Lang may yer lum reek (a Hogmanay greeting, implying "May you never be without fuel for your fire!", but more literally translates to "Long may your chimney smoke!")" All this I corrupted and used to inspire me here.

I'm having fun with this one!
