Ha Long Bay is a small bay on the west coast of the Gulf of Tonkin in the Northeastern Sea region of Vietnam, including the island waters of Ha Long city in Quang Ninh province.
Being the center of a large area with more or less similar elements in geology, geomorphology, landscape, climate and culture, with Bai Tu Long Bay in the northeast and Cat Ba archipelago in the southwest, Ha Long Bay is limited to an area of about 1,553 km², including 1,969 large and small islands, most of which are limestone islands, in which the core area of the bay has an area of 335 km² with a dense cluster of 775 islands. The tectonic history of the bay's limestone karst has spanned about 500 million years with very different paleo-geographical circumstances; and full karst evolution over 20 million years with a combination of factors such as thick limestone, hot and humid climate, and overall slow tectonic uplift. The combination of environment, climate, geology, geomorphology, has made Ha Long Bay become the convergence of biodiversity including tropical moist evergreen closed forest ecosystem and marine and coastal ecosystems. shoreline with many sub-ecosystems. 17 endemic plant species and about 60 endemic animal species have been discovered among thousands of flora and fauna inhabiting the bay.
I wanted to take snapshots of my day at the beach so I came up with the idea of doing story boards, little snippets of moments. Felt less pressure for perfection and created an atmosphere still.
Colloquially known as the "Gypsies of Fey," Farthings are small woodland creatures most commonly seen in abandoned or forgotten settlements where the natural elements have begun to reclaim the landscape. As a race, they can trace their lineage back to both faerie and goblinkind, but are not fully accepted by either branch of their family tree. Combining elements of each of their progenitors with attributes of other woodland inhabitants, Farthings vary widely in both color and physiognomy.
I just wanted to have a bit of fun, experimenting with different features and hair. I’ve still got a lot to learn though, but let me know what you think (:
This critter's technically unnamed, so if you have any suggestions please comment them, I do like feedback sometimes lol. The scene is set on an eco-planet, somewhat like a zoo but more future tech-y. The ring in the sky is a sort of shield against any stray space rocks as shown. Hope you like it. Took me very long to finally accept the fact that I can do anything, draw anthing on my sketchbook, that my sketchbook is a safe place for me to experiment, play, and explore styles, themes, mediums, and other ideas. I used to be so caught up in developing my own style, and being devoted to drawing only portraits.. Well.. now I’ll remember to “just draw!”
