August pictures... Highlights include spending time on a lake with beloved friends, a chukar (a partridge native to Asia) walking into Home Depot and a happy young woman in a beautiful red dress in a subway. I love watching people in subways (and everywhere else). #dailydrawing

I designed these multicolored trailers using different shades of color only in a different pattern for each trailer. I felt like this color scheme would give the trailers a uniform look yet their own distinct look. The roads look freshly paved with small shrubbery on the corners of the entry ways of the driveways. There are some pretty brown steps that leads to a door on each trailers. Also, as you can see the trailers have been topped off with the same flat style roof only with a different solid color which is one of the colors used on the sides of the trailers. There’s a fishing area with plenty of fish in it as well as places to sit. There’s even a place to use the restroom close by the fishing area so you can continue to enjoy your day catching fish with minimal interruption. This trailer park has a fresh look to it. It has a warm, inviting feel to it and is perfect for living a more simple lifestyle.

Another watercolor piece for practicing. This is actually a painting of my eye, which actually made it more difficult than doing someone else's. My iris has this weird mix of colors to it, but I always thought they looked really cool and I wanted to try to capture it. I think there are still some kinks that need to be worked out, and I think redoing it some other isn't a bad idea either.

This is number 8, out of 9 illustraitions. This illustration portrays Jesus after he dies on the cross. I t is my opinion that Mel Gibson’s portrayal of the brutality the Roman soldier inflicted on the body of Jesus, through the beatings and the 39 lashes with the cat of nine tails. This event was never visually captured in arts, until he made his movie The Passion of the Christ. Many don’t know what a cat of nine tales is, Roman style. A cat of nine tails are nine leather strap that are woven together at the handle. Each strap is laced with bone and other sharp objects. With each lash, flesh would be ripped from the victim’s body. Most of the illustration I have seen of the crucifixion of Jesus where quite sterile. They fail to illustrate the brutality. Their image of Jesus looks more like an under wear modal doing a photo shoot fore GQ magazine, Then the savor having the wrath of God being pored on his body for the payment of our sins. In this painting, I am place my viewer in the soldiers shoes, who just witnessed Jesus committing His spirit into God’s hands. This is my crazy, wild, and extroverted Australian Shepherd. Her name is Tasi. I have found myself pretty busy during the quarantine and haven’t done much art. Hopefully I can find a schedule and upload more frequently.

This painting was done with the Tuscan style in mind. The Tuscan style favors a rustic look. To me this never goes out of style because it’s as if the new and the old have found a common medium and have agreed to blend so well. There’s plenty of green, beautiful grass. The windows are complimented by the various colors of flowers that are perfectly placed below them. I love how there’s a table set outside of the building with a string of lights (even more beautiful at night) for people to enjoy the scenery as they eat some tasty, authentic Italian cuisines. There’s a group of people walking past the wall of yellow flowers and vines on the way to the inside of the building. In this scene, the ladies are wearing some long, beautiful dresses with gentlemen by their side to accompany them. This gives the impression that this group is out to have a good time. The white birds tops it off in this painting by giving it an inviting feel...”a moment to remember” feeling.

Can you imagine being the first African-American woman doctor in the United States back in the 1800s? We can’t fathom it either! That’s what Dr. Rebecca Lee Crumpler had to deal with, and we can’t salute her more for that feat!

Did some more gesture drawings today,this might be my last day of doing them at least for a couple of days I want to do more of the features of the body, like hands and feet and definitely get some more practice into doing eyes.

You’d think society wouldn’t talk about such things as stools, ew, it's a truly intimate topic, but it's not! As a Terminal Stage 4 Advanced Incurable Bowel Cancer Thriver, Monique sincerely believes that we need to get people talking about their bowel habits more and more because it can save lives and prevent late-stage diagnosis.

I drew a braid today I said to myself that I was going to start doing more painting and graphite work I showed it to my brother and he immediately saw it to be a braid so I was happy about that. I was sketching braids out a lot yesterday and now I’m trying to work on my shading and value tones for this piece. I think the shading came out OK I do think it can be better. I’m thinking about taking one or two days off from work just so can I really focus on more art.

I used a reference to draw this scenery. In the reference there was so many details that I really wanted to capture it. I even wanted to capture the details in the bride’s wedding dress. I think the groom looks quite handsome in blue (it’s HIS color as some people might say). I incorporated the long, beaded line under the bushels of flowers (just another element to add to an already beautiful scene). Also, as you can see, I added an audience watching the couple as they have their picture taken. The flowers spread along the table with the view of the wavy waters right behind them looks so refreshing. Every element served its purpose for the ultimate “moment to remember” feeling. One of my favorite things about this drawing is the string lights. It’s one of the smallest items to have, but they add character and charm to the scenery. The string lights give a romantic feel and is even more gorgeous at night. I enjoyed doing this drawing so much that I anticipated the second I’d be finished with it.
