I took an hour or two and drew some owls while watching the 7th Harry Potter movie. The black (it's actually dark purple) ink is in a Platinum Preppy refillable marker (I SWEAR BY THESE -- you just need the ONE and can keep putting ink in it) (https://www.gouletpens.com/collections/other-writing-instruments/products/platinum-preppy-refillable-marker-black?variant=11884751487019) and the green is in an extra-fine Lamy Al-Star (https://www.gouletpens.com/products/lamy-al-star-fountain-pen-bluegreen?variant=11884855885867).

This is a colorful mixed media artwork using a black ballpoint pen complemented with a rainbow gradient painted with watercolor paints. I created this artwork on November 11, which is why it's titled "Angel Numbers."
Our local antiques store had a huge treasure trove of vintage Native American themed toys and gifts this weekend. I realized that 1) I'd owned a lot of them and 2) none of my friends had. It never occurred to me that my collection was particularly large or unique. Doesn't every kid have a fixation on this country's indigenous population? Apparently not. I love the visual language of the Navajo and Hopi especially. My Kachina doll collection was the bomb.
It's official. I've gone to the dark side and fallen in love with acrylic gouache - specifically the Liquitex one. Remember when Billy Shears showed up to replace him? Nah, me neither. I wasn't going to wreck my record to hear them say it either. I know the prompt was warm colors, sadly if I did the jacket in pink or red it would've been George or Ringo. Anyway, a quick but fun sketch. "See the worst thing about doing this, doing something like this, is I think that at first people sort of are a bit suspicious. 'You know, come on, what are you up to?'"
Drawn using 0.03 and 0.05 fineliners, this one is for a book cover so cannot reveal the finished image yet! I do love trees, they are so fascinating to draw.
Cute peaceful fox drinking coffee, wearing a scarf. Trying gouache for the first time. It's a really nice medium. I am definitely going to keep at it and make some more gouache paintings.
