Kind of a style experiment. Took the elements from my 70's sci-fi book cover homage and remixed them in a more stylized, painterly way.

Portrait sketch in progress. Using the grid system to assist me with proportions. Using just a pencil for sketching and shading.

Was most interested to take on this unusual lighting! It was challenging but really satisfying. Pen and watercolour, about 3x5".
