I graduated from school with a degree in Bachelor of Science is what my teachers told me is a good enough degree to get hired in the art world but I don't know what in the art world I want to do. It took me six-years to get a four-year degree and eight years after graduating from high-school to figure out what I want to do with my life. I want to be a freelance artist creating my own work and doing commissions for others but even with my degree the level that I am at now is not good enough to sell neither am I at the level I want to be at. So.... I am taking the rest of my twenties to get at that level starting at ground zero and learning the basics from this website I found www.drawabox.com. This image is one of the exercises I'm doing. Trying to make sharp shadows without having everything blend toghether. My goal is to convey the warm, pinkish sunlight on the first day of spring, and light is not something i have given enough care to earlier. Removing colors from a photography is an effective way to get an idea of how sharp shadows actually are!
Actually I saw this scene when I was traveling in bus early morning. In the foggy outskirts of city. I spotted this farm. I loved the one small patch of farm with Greeny patch.
Couldn't paint the fog, but tried to give the sky a feel of foggy.

For all of you just getting started out there, or struggling with motivation, this is a side by side comparison of drawings about 18 months apart, 1 drawing a day. It may not feel like it, but every bit of practice you get a little bit better. Keep it up!
The work was taken by me in Portland, Oregon, USA. In the distance there is a house, a pillar on top of it has a lamp, Looking up at the sky at that time, the sunset sky looked very beautiful. The clumps of clouds drifted with the wind. Beneath the waves crashing against the shore, signaling that the tide has risen, the images in the above work make people always have to worry about the images that look very eye-catching.
This is just a doodle, nothing special. Basically Tam and Keefe in a nutshell. I am THIS CLOSE to finishing Unlocked, which makes me sad and happy at the same time. Sad, because I am going to have to wait who knows how long for the next book to come out. Happy because I can now look at and watch whatever I want without any spoilers. So yeh. Painted as my final project for my Painting Environments course. I was super nervous about tackling this one, but learned a ton taking this course. I'm happy to move on to the next one. :-)
