Inktober 5: Portrait of a Chook

Progression image 5 of 6. 11x14 Marker paper, Medium Graphite Pencils (asst. B-5B). Here the drawing started to come together. I used a metal tip to a mechanical pencil and dragged it along the paper to create the highlight effects in her hair. It is effective but irreversible, so I don't do it very often.

I think of a friend of mine here. He has that same smirk she presents here. Funny little inside thought...

'Oh how wonderful life would be, if I had my own little house in a tree!' This one was created for the Urban Explorer Challenge and I loved every minute of it! As a lover of the natural environment I had to draw on where my heart lies so a treehouse seemed a fitting response!

Inktober 4: Grimoire

Progression image 4 of 6. 11x14 Marker paper, Medium Graphite Pencils (asst. B-5B). This is where I felt the piece coming together. I spent a lot of time working on her left eye.

The first of my little house doodles, on watercolour board with fineliner pens.

Quite often I’ll get ambushed with flyers and the like whilst out and about. Thankfully, I have use for said materials.
