My half of the art trade with OptimisticJerk (https://www.deviantart.com/optimisticjerk). The trade was to draw a monster as made up by your counterpart without seeing a reference image, based only on the description. Here is her half (which is awesome): www.deviantart.com/optimisticj… For mine, I had to draw a monster called a "niter" based off of his description: "Niters communicate in whispers. Nocturnal. Shy away from light. They’re black and oily and emanate a bluish glow. Large, looming 6 foot shadow things with massive hind legs, clawed for climbing trees and they have ‘maws’ instead of arms, claw-like appendages they stab people with and only one gaping blue eye. Their mouths open up and they swallow their victims whole." What's funny is that I didn't see the fact that they emanate a bluish glow until now. So, the glow from the eye is purely by coincidence. Figuring out the hind legs of this creature was difficult, and so I sought reference images, and of all things, the koala turned out to be a pretty good reference. For a while, there, it was looking like Carnage from Spiderman, but I toned down the reddish-hue a bit. The intention was to give the appearance of motor oil. So, now to find out how badly I failed at drawing this... This art trade was fun, though, and I would do a similar one, again. But I am le tired.

This an exercise I like to do every so often, just to lay back and character design. This is a picture of a group of Space Scavengers looking for there next hit!

I figured it'd be a while until I draw (in full detail) ALL of the Altitone band members, so I made each one a sprite. Their names are (from left to right): (The first one is a base), Elizabeth the hot pink cat, Preistor the sky blue rabbit, Altor the golden bear, Bruce the green mouse, Lexibo the violet elephant, Mary the short red fox, Dexter the blue-gray Racoon DJ, and the three cheerleaders: Rosette the crimson mouse, Oopsie the russet fox, and Pastelle the cotton candy short-eared rabbit. On the very bottom are the instruments. In order, they are Elizabeth's mic, Preistor's guitar, Altor's drum set, Bruce's mic, Lexibo's piano, Mary's oil drum (not an instrument, but Mary hides her bottom half in the oil drum, sort of like Looney Bird from The Rock-afire Explosion (which is why she has no legs)), and Dexter's DJ board. The last three are cheerleaders, and their hands have been replaced with cheerleading pom poms. On stage left, we have Dexter and Mary. On the center stage, we have Preistor, Altor, Lexibo, Elizabeth, and Bruce. On stage right is Rosette, Oopsie, and Pastelle. Made with Piskel. Inspired by Halloween

Another drawing I did a while ago. We've got Edward (the guy with the phone on his head), Dave (in a newly designed springlock Bonnie suit), Jack (in the springlock Foxy suit), nondescript employee, the man who brought everybody back to life (in the springlock Chica suit), and Henry (in the springlock Freddy suit). In the bottom left corner is a lonely freddy. I'm thinking that the tame part of Dave (the one that was seen in the flipside) will be the Dave we see in a human form, but the bad part (the one in Davetrap) would be sealed inside of Plushtrap, forever bound in a tiny body so he couldn't do anything bad. He lives in the back alley of the pizzaria and is the king of the lonely Freddys. Freddies? Freddy's? Oh well. Drawn with FireAlpaca.

Blocked out values and form for a work in progress. I haven't drawn or painted in a while, so critiques are welcome before I dive in further with this. Ultimately, I'm looking to incorporate a quote on meditation with the finished piece.

I asked my husband (who is our Covid-period grocery shopper as I am high risk) to bring home a fruit to draw. He came home with a dragon fruit. For those who don't know this interesting edible, it's from a cactus. There are two species: the Asian species is white inside, the Central American variety is shocking pink (see photo). Great in smoothies or when nicely ripe (as this one was) it's tasty eaten out of the skin with a spoon.

Decided to train my hand a bit by recreating the character Sadness from the Pixar movie 'Inside out'

My wife had asked me to do a picture reacting to all of the media coverage on 9-11. I was feeling this way, too, so I did. Acrylic on cardboard.

Are you open to others' perspectives? When presented with a difficult or polarizing topic it can be easy to ignore nuance rather than discuss it. Challenge yourself to be thoughtful and attentive in conversation - understanding begins with an open minded attitude.

I was inspired by my favorite shows Naruto and Naruto: Shippuden.
