Purposely unfinished piece of work featuring a female with freckles. My focus was capturing a captivating look in her eyes. Mainly a practice/study piece.
I grew up drawing and illustrating, but 20+ years later, it hit me with force. I haven't looked back since. These are the first two practice sketches I made when I decided finally that I want to be an artist.

For all of you just getting started out there, or struggling with motivation, this is a side by side comparison of drawings about 18 months apart, 1 drawing a day. It may not feel like it, but every bit of practice you get a little bit better. Keep it up!
Wanted to practice with some charcoal but couldn't resist collaging it up a bit! A great way to hide mistakes (or laziness!) Tui's are NZ's most successful native bird.

Did some more gesture drawings today,this might be my last day of doing them at least for a couple of days I want to do more of the features of the body, like hands and feet and definitely get some more practice into doing eyes.
Drew more head proportions and did a practice run with the proportions of the human body. I remember doing this years ago when I went to community college; it’s been a while so a lot of things that I have to re-learn but ready to learn
