Our public conduct should reflect our private selves, our manners should spring from our hearts. To be courteous costs us nothing, but buys us everything. Morality is based on ethics. We should not devalue and undermine others. It is important to preserve and honor each other's dignity if we are to promote a harmonious society. We all wish to have dignity and respect, but often we do so little to obtain it. We can be natural and truthful, real and genuine. We must treat others as we wish to be treated. If we approach someone else's anger with calmness and courtesy, we can often help diffuse that anger and foster cooperation. With sweet words we can lead an elephant by a hair. Dignity also requires that we be truthful, humble, gracious and temperate. Those who lie, cheat, steal, and abuse alcohol and drugs lose all dignity; those who are honest, work hard, and respect themselves and others gain it. Such person can walk with their heads held high. Losing one's wealth is nothing nothing compared with losing one's dignity. The whole measure of excellence is moderation. We can maintain strong morals, high standards, and a great respect and honesty. Truth cannot be buried; truth can set us free. Truth elevates our spirit, softens our souls. Truth is the mother of virtue. Our pride and our shame turn us into liars. We must resist and work hard to maintain our dignity, or regain it once it's been lost. We owe it to ourselves to have happy life, enriched with dignity, respect and peace of mind. We should remember that it means nothing to live without wealth; it means everything to live with dignity. Nobility shows from a distance. It is not offensive to deprive ourselves of wealth; it is offensive to lose our dignity.

The only problem was that they didn't speak any English. They did know some French and armed with French-English phrasebook, dictionaries and enthusiasm they brought forth this phrasebook. Mark Twain was an early admirer of this book. Sore wrist makes for slow productivity. This is once again Amar and Augustine. This time in a different setting. When my hubby and I play with these characters we end up sticking them into different settings and situations just to see how they will behave and how their relationship develops under different circumstances.

Utilising oil paint. It covers the idea of not taking the opportunities when they are presented to you. The sunset and plane flying away symbolise the end of a chapter that would have been closed off.

One day on the way home from my Nana's house, I noticed that the sunset showed every color of the rainbow. It reminded me of God's promise to Noah after the great flood. As I began to draw the scene I thought about how that promise just fills the world with His love and mercy. Anyway, that was the idea for the title.

I started a new job, and it's leaving no time for daily art :( . I've decided to set aside a couple hours each week, though. Last night I did a drop in to an online portrait class, and I really liked the result of one of the warmups. Maybe all efforts should be 10 min!

Ok made the 2nd Mystery of the Mysteries of Light: The Wedding of Cana. Also an important revelation and the prime miracle that started Jesus' "hour". I definately spent much more time on the Baptism because of it's important icon significance but I found some good lil inspiration for this too, a bit more simple but nice. ^_^ Oh and if you don't know the story: John Chapter 2 1 And the third day, there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee: and the mother of Jesus was there. 2 And Jesus also was invited, and his disciples, to the marriage. 3 And the wine failing, the mother of Jesus saith to him: They have no wine. 4 And Jesus saith to her: Woman, what is that to me and to thee? my hour is not yet come. 5 His mother saith to the waiters: Whatsoever he shall say to you, do ye. 6 Now there were set there six waterpots of stone, according to the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three measures apiece. 7 Jesus saith to them: Fill the waterpots with water. Original characters for a story which might never see the day of light. Amar and Aska belongs to me, Augustine and Sayeed belongs to my Hubby. We call them the Ass quartet or The triple As A-S. Augustine would be the main character, Amar her foil/lancer, and Aska and Sayeed would be supporting characters. I'm still practising communicating though character and setting design, so I will probably re-design them about 100 times more before they will ever be done.
