Working on a tattoo for myself that's based on the Disney Magic Kingdom's Haunted Mansion. The Tightrope Girl is part of the expanding elevator in the beginning of the ride. I changed the shape of the original painting to a coffin; simplified everything down; and added some flourishing. I'm not great at flourishing yet.

When Rebelle 3 by Escape Motions came out I wanted to create something that really shows off its power. I normally draw in fountain pen first, but this was created entirely from scratch in Rebelle 3.
Digital art tends to be cold and impersonal, but Rebelle's watercolor simulation looks & feels like real paint... and you can undo! That's critical for illustration work, as clients often request changes... But even for personal work- it means an artist can achieve a watercolor look without being at the mercy of the medium. So the result is more true to his or her vision.

It’s simmering with people ready to spew their most bigoted thoughts in the name of edginess/independence from the norm. More ballpoint pen experiments. This was trying to "blend" colors, using ball point pens in a similar way to colored pencils. I found Layering evenly to be pretty difficult, esp with the pens blotching and very very limited burnishing. The interesting thing is that the paper doesn't seem to get "tired" the way it does with pencils. This is just cheap printer card stock.

Inktober2018day14. Clock. I love time. I hate time. It goes too fast and there’s never enough of it. If I had more of it, I would be able to post every day for inktober. I wasn't going to participate this year, but after 4 or 5 days in, I figured if I did a very simple line drawing, like I started doing with the little box chicken character I could make every remaining day, but I just couldn't stop myself from going all out on some pieces. It's like I always want to add more. So maybe it’s going to be quality not quantity for me this year. Please enjoy.
(2B pencil on a 198mm x 124mm book title page) Profanity is a common form of blasphemy. Here, I've used it in a similar way as you'd see fonts used in the old Letraset catalogues. Plus, nobody says "fadge" anymore, and that used to be a good swear-word.
So, I really wasn't going to participate in inktober this year because of time constraints. But I saw some simple line art stuff from others that looked fun. I'll see how far I can make it this year.
