I watched a virtual wildflower walk yesterday, and it reminded me that it's spring and beautiful things are happening quietly all over the place. This is a plant emerging from the snow at a hot spring in Mammoth on a Valentine's trip just before I found out I was pregnant.
So I did one of these with a couple of friends over on dA, where we each sketch something then ink the lines of someone else, and digitally colour the third, and as they both chose to draw their characters I scrapped the squid-creature idea to jump on the bandwagon as well! Sunset Clouds study. Watercolour. March 20, 2020. I found this extremely difficult. I've only ever painted clouds in Oil paint and it was much easier. I'm still working on painting lighter and quicker, but I found it a challenge to mitigate. I'll paint this again once my skills have advanced more.
