DARTH VADER (GRAPHITE AND CHARCOAL - A3)

So I've started beginning Head Drawing with Steve Huston. This is my work from his first lesson on gesture.

I tried to make a campfire setting, with a cozy tent, the warm fire eliminating the night, the trees in the background and of course, the stars the the sky for perfect stargazing. The purpose was to create a scene, where someone would be comfortable, just lying there, enjoying everything.

Just something random I did this morning. It started as a pencil sketch that I outlined. It’s colored in Caliart markers.

This is a quick painting I did in my sketchbook in order to help kickstart me back into painting. It is painted in Arteza brand gouache on Canson watercolor paper. I've gotten into drawing plants lately and I think these ginger plants are a new favorite of mine.

Another transitional one from 2017 in the size of 18" x 24". Looking back, this work starts showing me some glimpses. Abstracts do have an impersonal quality to it. Since it is not grounded with our everyday familiar objects or people, not knowing the visual language would be hard to understand the merits. I guess that is why I fell back to semi figurative.

A 3 format, mixed technique. "My dissatisfaction with my progress in magic is growing," I said to the wizard Cirilo Bum, "I want to quickly become a wizard and not stagnate in the place." "Every creature, so the wizards, have their own way, and always travel, even if they stand in place," the old wizard answered. Then make a quick gesture by hand, a piece of paper was created in his hand. This sketch started as a boredom buster. I tend to doodle eyes often, but occasionally those eyes become a face or in this case, become a person. ☺

Piece from a while back when I first started to get back into sketching things

I was at the verge of giving up on all hopes of finding any real solution or at least answers to my crypto issues when I first came across and read an article about SALVAGE ASSET RECOVERY. All my drawings are random ideas from my head. I actually just started drawing in pencil about a year ago. I love to normally use felt tip pens. I just hope all like what they see. We're all artists here so everyone should know that we are our own worst critics lol.

Jean is my clan leader on the dragon petsim Flight Rising, in-game she is a nature elemental female pearlcatcher. Her in-game profile is here https://www1.flightrising.com/dragon/4025429 Lore outline: Originally born in the nature elemental lands she found herself enchanted by the stars above the canopy, and journeyed to the light territories in search of knowledge. But these dragons had little in the way of passion besides snobbery and a burning desire for truth. In her love of the night sky and shunning of the sun she did not fit here, and was bullied for it. One particularly bad episode altered the golden runes that her scales bore, covered her with patches of glowing gold - a permanent mark of the burning sun. But she did not only come to harm in the light flight, for it was here that she came across a clan of misfits just like her, formed by a guardian dragon who wanted to protect all those who were different. And then she, along with the clan, moved to the territory of the arcane flight - the home of curiosity, and those that loved the stars. They have been there ever since. Art method: I started with graphite and ink on white A4 paper, scanned it into the computer and set to multiply then used photoshop to add colour and further shading + a simple gradient for a background on the layers beneath.

Drawing done on A6 sketch paper 90 g/m2 using Uni pin fineliners, pen ink and green crayon. Started drawing pointy corners and areas to fill later and along the way I got inspired to do something similar to the ring of Green Lantern from DC. A friend of mine said the drawing makes her think of energy and fury.
