Ruskin believed that ornament was never decoration for its own sake — it was evidence of attention, a record of the hand and eye slowing down enough to truly see. These kaleidoscope name designs are built the same way: a name broken into line, repeated outward with discipline, until pattern becomes a kind of patience made visible.mandala, kaleidoscope, radial symmetry, pattern art, geometric art, name art, marker art, hand drawn, meditative art
This drawing was done with pen and colored pencil. I wanted to create a self-portrait that could also serve as a profile picture for my art accounts. My other self-portraits tend to be realistic, so I decided to try and depict myself in my own illustrative style instead. My artistic influences for this piece include tattoo styles, pinup art, and art nouveau as well as inspiration taken from some of my favorite portrait artists, Sargent and Rockwell.
Beginning of acrylic while tuned in live to https://www.mixcloud.com/djtruebrit-otb/. I love how it evolved as the soundwaves flowed through. More to come... XO Tethered2This
Phoenix or Wyvern? Avian or Dragon? It doesn't matter anymore when Ido seems to hold characteristics of both. On a prompt, I tried reverting a very important feature: the eyes, back in a light cyan / blue colour. Suddenly with this step backwards, he was a step closer to life again.
An illustration from my sketchbook. I used it as a header for a blog post I wrote here: https://substack.com/home/post/p-177688791 It's a warning about the mark of the beast. I recommend you to take a look!
A late Christmas edition, but I suppose it's fine because it's still Christmastide. And according to the story, the wise men didn't actually arrive at the time of Jesus's birth so the lateness has some historical basis.
Hey Boos! This was a little doodle my bestie @CutePanda asked me to draw! This is my oc Peekaboo, in a beanbag chair (that are her two fave colors, pastel blue and pink) and she's playing animal crossing because yes! (PS her favorite villager is a deer named erik)
Edit: Man I just realized how much this drawing sucks.
