Don’t cry over spilled milk unless you are Mr. Milk of course.
Another commission and another Springer. These are one of my favourites to draw as theres such a mixture of texture and shape.
Having way too much fun with textures and halftones in Procreate.
Nat checking her email. The polar fleece blanket colour and texture didn't turn out the way I wanted it to.
Bic4 Ballpoint Pen, Sanrio Novelty 10 Colour Ballpoint Pen on Archival 8.5" x 11" paper
I painted one of my cats, Banana, in a cat tunnel. The coloring in the photo was muted, so I worked on color and fabric texture. I am thrilled with her facial expression, and the overall composition feels good. This is not AI nor is any element made from AI.
Another portrait commission! Gorgeous little man! Drawn with 0.05 fine liner on A4 medium texture cartridge paper.
This rabbit likes to rock out! 10 x 10 watercolor + marker & pastel. I had fun adding texture in this one.
Mechanical pencil drawing with digital texture and color added
I modified the challenge a wee bit. I didn't use the same paper for the various drawings since I was using (top row, left to right) hard graphite pencils (3H to HB), watercolor pencils, (bottom row, left to right) brush pens and ballpoint pen. These media work best on very different paper textures and moisture absorbing qualities. The second picture shows the object of my study --- and the apparatus I use to hold botanical subjects. "Third hand" tools are very useful and cheap. This one was under $10 and serves my purposes well. Just FYI. (Each drawing/painting was scanned and composited in Photoshop.)
Prismacolor colored pencil drawing of stylized begonias. This was fun, especially making the leaves have a satin texture. I printed this on card stock as a blank card to give to friends.
Exploring texture and line.
Practicing making different shapes and textures and trying to bring out the contrast with a black background.
the textures on the canvas are those white parts and its thick backing I laid out first. Check out my instagram if you like my ideas!
These are seashells that I copied out from Dana Fox’s (In the Ocean) book. They were fun but it was also challenging trying to capture the likeness and texture of seashells.
My first attempt at a texture totem pole in pen only.
Everyone is already doing it, this is mainly a reminder for me!
Totally messed up on the first 1, 2nd one looks like a hair ball, 3rd a string ball and the tiny one looks like nothing. I invite you to try this challenge it is quite difficult.
Portrait in Texture.
