✨My plan this month was to celebrate women, among them Princess Leia / Carrie Fisher. A leader and fighter against the Empire's tyranny. If this was today she'd be a health professional, or hygiene professional (cleaners), or food retailer worker or security professional. May the force be with you.
This head is from a broken sculpture I found in A church of Rome when I was exploring the city, you can see a lot of these sculpture on the streets when you look around.
A moody, very busy day. I did an ink wash of the beach today, but I'm posting the last piece I drew in the studio instead. I miss the studio and friends there.
I was feeling really sad and scared, and the weight of the world's crisis weighed heavy on me, so I wanted to paint something lovely and bright. Acrylic on Kraft cardstock
All Done! I’m pretty happy with how it turned out, but a few of the proportions are way off... but oh well. And I absolutely suck at manes(hair) soooo ya. Also I was curious, I’m thinking about getting some prints made of my artwork to sell, do any of you think you or someone you know would be interested in prints? Just curious, thanks! I guess the illustrator in me came out on this one...
3/17/2020 San Francisco. The art studio is closed because of social distancing for the Coronavirus. My teacher sent out a note with a sketch she did and suggested we do a drawing a day during this isolation, to stay calm and creative and maintain our community. A neighbor put out a bucket with free bouquets, and it inspired me to pause while I was getting dinner started and do this instead. Definitely rusty after not being in the studio for two weeks!
