Mostly wet on wet technique and then wet on dry for the white paint. I used a Mont Marte Round 2 brush and Reeves watercolor paint tubes. Also concocted my very own magic watercolor paint that made the black background somewhat similar to gouache. I learned this painting from one of the best artists named Maria Raczynska.

I feel I'm not nearly experienced enough yet with digital drawing/painting to do this goddess justice, but there it is.

I'm just experimenting with some very old kohinoor woodless colored pencils. It's spring upstate. One is my husband's garage, one is a very sunny spring day on an ATV trail behind my house.

This turned out to be a finished painting. It started with a full canvas of doodle lines (check my patreon log if you are interested in the raw file) This was executed just this March. Still, no lines were altered except the face area. Impossible you say?

This was inspired by the artwork of AnneliesDraws. She has an amazing skills with gouache and colored pencils. I don't have gouache paints and so I tried making an illustration using my watercolor paints. I tried increasing the opacity of the watercolor to almost the same as of the gouache paints. This is a mess I made with Monet's Crimson Red and Ultramarine Blue paint tubes. Wet on wet technique and a bit of a mindlessly overdone splatters.

Although this is my commercial work, it's more in keeping with my sketchbook drawings so I'm posting it here. It's for Waitrose My week magazine on old photos of V.E day and what we can lean from them in our current international emergency.
