This was probably one of the first pieces I have done where I used a reference photo for inspiration. I usually just use them for anatomy and perspective, but this time I stuck to the basic idea of the photo. (I still changed a lot tho, haha)

Something with many meanings. Symbolizing, starting from the bottom, birth, trials and learning, dark times then to enlightenment which is when someone gets to the end of their lessons of their life.

En effet, il suffit de reprendre le travail d’un artiste et signer la nouvelle production de son nom. Il ne s’agit, en aucun cas, de copier l’œuvre comme pourrait le faire un faussaire. Il ne s’agit pas non plus de plagier l’œuvre. En ce qui me concerne, j’utilise l’œuvre célèbre d’un artiste reconnu. En réutilisant une œuvre originale préexistante et célèbre, condition sine qua non, je propose de rendre un hommage. Il ne s’agit en aucun cas d’un manque d’inspiration surtout lorsque l’on sait maintenant que : « l’art naît de l’art et non de la nature » : Ernst Gombrich. Dans cette série, j’ai voulu revisiter des œuvres célèbres en utilisant ma technique graphique de l’éloge de l’approximation mettant en évidence la problématique de la défaillance et de la mémoire vaporeuse. so I did this cause I wanted to see how my anatomy was being put to a test. It came out better than I had expected.

My aunt had open heart surgery last year. This was done for her.

The new chapter is in progress and one of the two scenes is already written, but for now I've made the cover for the fanfic and the masterlist, hehe. Mostly this was just an experiment with black and white and some brushes.

The First Glorious Mystery: The Resurrection! While Jesus' body was entombed he descended into the Underworld in order to free and bring to heaven all the righteous that died before Him. Jesus is victorious over death, Robed in Heavenly white, He is surrounded by a mandorla of star-studded light, representing the Glory of God. Christ is shown dramatically pulling Adam, the first man, and Eve from the tomb. Jesus does the work, that is why He is pulling Adam from the tomb by the wrist, and not the hand. Surrounding him are Holy Men and Women of the Old testament and who died before. St. Joseph is also there almost saying to the others "That's my boy! :)" Haha. John the Baptist and King David are present. On the other side we have little Abel next to Eve, Judith with her sword, Esther in royal purple and Ruth. I'd like to include even more but I'll need a much bigger piece of paper or canvas. :P This Icon is also called the "Harrowing of Hades" “Harrow” comes from the Old English word used to describe the ploughing of a field with a cultivator which is dragged roughly over the ground, churning it up. In the icon, Christ is shown with the instrument of His death plunged deep into Hades. Beneath Christ’s feet – which still carry the marks of His crucifixion – lay the gates of Hades, smashed wide open in the shape of the Cross. Christ has trampled death by death. Within the dark underworld are scattered broken chains and locks; Hades is not destroyed – it is still there – but its power to bind people is gone. There are no chains, no locked doors. Christ is always there to lift us from the darkness of this world.
