Intoxication of a night sky

This is a watercolor painting I made last summer while camping with a scout group.

The London eye is one of my fascinations and an icon.

Two heads. Ink was used. And a brush. And some water. That’s it.

Here is a watercolor piece I made so I can relax, have fun with textures and my gold ink. It is meant to illustrate how those olive tree leaves shimer in the light of day.

Sometimes we just need a bit of encouragement to push us along the way. Sometimes life is hard and it does more than give you lemons. Cry, vent and release your frustration in a healthy way, but try and stay strong. You will be glad you did :)

Cover for a short graphic novel I made for my final project at design school.

The other day I saw pictures of a Russian gala beginning of the 1900. The royalty was wearing extravagant beautiful clothing and they inspired this piece. Due to the card stock used and the subject I also decided to not use color but leave it at black, white and dark Grey. I would love feedback as I adore how it turned out. Is essence this to me was partially a study on the fashion of Russia in the 1900 as well as a chance to play around with 'colored' paper and how to use black and white to make most of what I had with me. I hope to make another piece like this again in the future, hopefully have it perhaps even more extravagant. This piece was made using. Day 5 word was build. Small 3x3 pen and ink drawing.

Kicking off Inktober with some creepiness for the prompt "Ring". I never do this all the way through but maybe this year is the year.

These are the results from a request to create a piece based on a fathers son's nicknames. The older brother is the moon, second the bear, third the bird. Added the stars as the parents. His first request was of a tattoo of sorts ...but I struggled and my drawings kept turning into children illustrations. I so enjoyed the challenge and it gave me an opportunity to honor the love of family. At the same time, it was hard to associate them into a tattoo:) .

This image was completed in graphite and black pastel with a matte finish.

There is a purpose in the rope being tied loosely. The individual has the liberty to free themselves but remains enslaved by their own choice. Many times we know exactly what to do, but refuse to do just that. Sometimes we want freedom, but we use our liberty to remained chained to what we hate.

This piece was created using graphite. It demonstrates the struggles of those who suffer from mental illnesses on the inside and on the outside.

Did a doodle sketch. Didn’t really know where this idea was going when I started it then it grew into a kind of cityscape sunset in the end. I was trying to sort of do a bridge around the buildings in an abstract unidimensional way. Well thought it was creative and different in the end.

Mixed media - watercolor, graphic marker, pen. Artwork is a piece of Hybrid Mythologies stories, to be featured in the book by the same name.

It’s been a crazy summer that’s kept me from posting much, although I’ve kept fairly consistent drawing in my sketchbook. With a cross country move and taking our oldest child to college, we’ve burned about 4,500 miles on the road in the past month.
