Started out drawing with crayons on my bedroom wall as a wee tot. Over the decades, I worked in animation, technical illustration, freelance illustration and design. One of dozens of cartoons I created the last couple of years. A little voice is telling me to get these published in a book. If the voice gets louder, it will happen. In the meantime, I'm brainstorming and filling my sketchbook.

This was one of dozens of daily sketches I did in a small book for my daughter's Christmas present a couple of years ago. Love the wacky gulls. So many in my area.

A little while back I started doing little triptych cartoons, something I could have fun with and zip off pretty quickly. Then I expanded them to four panels when it felt necessary. Some people think too deeply about my little toons and are confused about what's happening. I just tell them to look at it more simply, and not to overthink it. Like this one.

in my idle time over Christmas holidays, i was inspired to make something unlike any of my other art. so i raided my recycle bin and made this fun little thing that sits between my window and the blinds.

I was under the gun to zip this one off. Someone at work asked me at the last minute to draw up a quick fun farewell card for a departing employee, and everyone would sign it. I knew the guy loved the comics character The Hulk, so...

Years ago, I did some triathlons, and though I miss that feeling of accomplishment through hard work, I DO NOT miss all the niggling injuries or dedicating so much of my time to training. The post-workout and post-race meals were what kept me going. Food, food, and more food. I'll never do all that again, but this was a fun way to relive the grind.

I've been absent from the site for months, due to working on a book. But now that I have a bit of spare time, I've been dabbling in watercolours, something I haven't done in years. A bit rough to start but I'm enjoying it.
