I heard that Hannah Gadsby’s latest Netflix special was something to watch. And it was, even during the most difficult and revealing moments. I think it would be downright disrespectful for me to say that I can relate to this woman’s experience simply because I am a woman because in reality, I can’t. My life looks very little like hers. However, I do understand resilience and what rebuilding yourself looks like (at least on some level) and that is what resonated with me. I can also say that I gained a better perspective on how being honest can be really REALLY uncomfortable for people on the receiving end, yet is totally necessary if it means someone gets to live authentically.✌
