Ilga Jansons Hello, my name is Ilga Jansons,
and I'm a doodle addict.
Edgewood, Washington Plus

I’ve worked in the fashion industry, tested equipment for NASA, been a high school teacher and a program manager at Microsoft. I’ve also been a general contractor, an indie-dyer for wool and yarn, and designed architectural etched glass. I am currently semi-retired and rediscovering my artistic roots. I keep drawings on a Pinterest board. https://www.pinterest.com/EdgewoodGarden/ilgas-drawings/

Sketchbook Fountain Pen Drawings
1/5

Currently exploring image making with fountain pens: immediate mark making, no pencil, no eraser. I'm enjoying the discovery process and embracing the stray mark made with semi-blind contour and continuous line drawings.

Cadaver drawings
1/3

My drawings today from my sketchbook class, we were drawing cadavers. These are from the head and neck dissections of the donors. This is one of my favorite locations I take my students. It is humbling.

Pink tulips

Pink tulips on toned tan sketch paper. This was my first time burnishing. I used the toned tan paper so that I could better see the effects of burnishing with a white pencil. I used Prismacolor soft core pencils.
