Kristel Hello, my name is Kristel,
and I'm a doodle addict.
Estonia

I started this year (2019) my new journey to develop myself as an artist. Before I painted only with oilcolors, then made a three year break and now I experiment with new mediums like watercolor, coloredpencils, craphitepencils and who knows what else I will try this year. Anyway, I do not have many difficulties at drawing from reference photos, but to draw by heart, I am almoust 0. I think it is important to have that skill as an artist and that is why I am here, I want to challange myself and grow as an artist. Keeping life interesting☆

Bearskull pine
1/4

In the Finnish mythology killing of a bear was followed by a great feast in honour of the bear (peijaiset), where a substantial part of the celebrations consisted of convincing the bear's spirit that it had died accidentally and hadn't been murdered. Afterwards, the bear's skull was hung high upon a pine tree so its spirit could re-enter the heavens. The bones of the bear were then buried under the pine. Reference for this work is my old drawing of karhunkallopetäjä/bearskullpine in the Riisitunturi. Also practice sketch of bear skull and at last photo i took of pine.

West Highland Terrier
1/4

Gorgeous little Rupert the West Highland Terrier. He was drawn using black fine liners on A4. Love doing the animal portraits... I love it when their little eyes suddenly peep out the paper! Available as an A4 print.
