This is a book Cover for a christian publishing house that wanted a pattern. The book is written for young/teenage leaders.

Digital piece, although I rather wish I'd have just sketched it down in pencil really!

I had an idea to create illustrations of fruit set in autumn 2017, and have been working on the realization of this idea throughout February/March 2018. In all, I have created 11 illustrations: apple, apricot, banana, cherry, grape, lemon, orange, pear, plum, tomato, watermelon. Using rapidograph to form the shape, I am coloring my works digitally in Adobe Photoshop. Here is an apricot!

This is my illustration of the Mad Hatter, based on the Tim Burton interpretation; it was created for a recent blog post. Everything was drawn by hand on white cardstock, using illustration pens, except for the background (which was created by scanning a specific craft paper pattern). The black and white conversion/inversion, composition, and subtle refinements were done in Adobe Photoshop. © 2018 Joe Blend. All rights reserved.
