Legends and folklore is huge in Game of Thrones book series, one in particular is the legend of ‘Azor Ahai’, the warrior who drove the darkness away with his sword Lightbringer. How he forged the sword to bring the end in darkness was by plunging it into his wife’s heart. her soul and the hot blade created Lightbringer. A new ‘Azor Ahai’ was supposed to come again and many believe it to be either Daenerys Targaryen or Jon Snow. - I think end the end it’s Jon Snow if the prophecies were interpreted this way- the ‘long night’ being Daenerys mad reign. And of course when I think of dragon, I think of Drogon and Daenerys Targaryen- “The First is Her Name, The Unburnt, Queens of the Andals, the Rhoynar and the First Men, Queen of Meereen, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, Protector of the Realm, Lady Regent of the Seven Kingdoms, Breaker of Chains and Mother of Dragons”.

That time when age finally caught up to the feisty Maester at Castle Black, Aemon Targaryen. He cries out to ’Egg’, his brother once in a while and at one point said, ‘Egg, I dreamt I was old!’ - Not all old people are frail, some are healthy and hearty and incredibly robust and sturdy! At first I couldn’t decide whether to draw Maester Aemon or Jojen Reed, who despite being young, also grew frail as he helped Bran across the Wall to help him find the Three-Eyed Raven. I finally decided to save that one for another Inktober word prompt. I did wanted to draw Maester Aemon and honor the actor who played him, Peter Vaughn, who passed away in 2016.

"Facade" depicts the duality between constructed appearance and natural image. The old woman manifests societal idealization of beauty within her headpiece, burdened by the intricacy. Aesthetically pleasing symbols around her echo the notions of her manifested identity. This facade subconsciously contributes to continuing superficial values.
