Forest Of Pycosis

When you are in this forest, you are lost, until the sun rises again to show the path out of madness. This was one of the first large paintings, that I completed. Its a strange thing because when I was painting it, i distorted the horizon line. The line should be level by right.

Spring! Chicks! Sunshine!

It’s spring! And I got to hang out with little chicks. They are little fluff balls of serotonin. (Drawing with my non-dominant hand).

From the body of work entitledThe Sheep Are Following Me.

This is the first canvas in the work. Its based on a sketch I did. I did five pieces, and this is #1.It is a self portrait. The reason for three figures is that it is meant to repersent motion.

Gladator/now we are free

This is inspired from the the soundtrack to Gladator the film. Its about how most people will end up in some kind of Colosseum, metaphorically speaking. Life will throw at us many problems. A sketch for a body of work. The black cross is a sword buried in the ground. Maybe its a symbol of peace.

To Sit Upon The Autumn Leaves

I did this in responce to reading a book called''Mans Search For Meaning''. The book is about living through world war 2. The main caracter is finding peace although their is war going on all around him. This is my interpretation of the character, although in the book their is no mention of whats happening above. The birds that are flying around are in his mind, thus symbolising that he is at peace with himself.

Dusk Over Amman Valley

I first bought some cheap soft pastels back in 2018 and did a couple of sketches. I bought a nice set of Rembrandt pastels a few months later — didn't use them. I bought some pastel pads, none if which seemed right. September 2020, I bought a couple more sets of bargain pastels and tried a couple of pieces — no good, still couldn't bring myself to use them. Jess bought me pastel pencils for Christmas — I was too scared to use them. I even bought a pad of Pastelmat which is supposed to be THE paper to use for pastel paintings in January. I was too scared to use that as well! FINALLY, after a few unsuccessful attempts at working with watercolour (brush issues), I cast aside my fear and thought I'd mess around with pastels. Some time later, and this was the result. I've finally broken through my pastel fear-barrier. I've got to say, I love soft pastels and I'm excited about doing more pieces in this medium.

No. 9 il Cavallino

Seahorse are of the genus Hippocampus, from the Ancient Greek, hippos meaning "horse" and kampos meaning "sea monster". Seahorses are not great swimmers so they spend a lot of time with their tail wrapped around stationery objects.

DoodleAddict Prompt 030121: A Saying

I don't often do the prompts and, when I do, I generally finish them late. They don't always speak to me, but this one did. The ideas are not original, but I'm pretty sure I came up with this maxim last year as a way of encouraging myself.
