About a young female journalist called Gloria who was supposed to write in "Womens' pages" only. About the same woman shouting out to the pink hats in 2017 as she already did to women in the 70s. These are 5 out of 12 images I did while processing the necessity of healing from life lessons. Heartbreak is prevalent throughout all the levels of tragedies in our lives. At times, the mourning period feels forced-- I never really want my wounds to heal because I feel they're the last of the love I carried for that "thing". The process feels like gold pouring into my gapping heart and I can only scream as it sears through my veins. It hurts to heal. It hurts that it has to happen.

Public art show "Cruisin the Square" for our town, Pontiac, IL. Local artists were given a fiberglass car or truck to alter as they wished. I turned mine into what might happen if I journaled on my car as I traveled Route 66.

Claire here with another species I designed! This is a digital drawing of what I call a Gormadon. It's likeness is most like a bear, but it has spikes and frills kind of like a dragon or dinosaur. I imagine this species to be quite big if it were real. Perhaps about the size of an adult elephant. These thoughts are in my mind daily. I take care of my 91 year old father. I'm certain he has dementia but I can't get his doctor to diagnose him. He can easily pass a competency test, even though he is no longer competent. My mind is messy, to say the least.

Created a few years ago, this little one has become my personal symbol. I often wear a button with this image on it without the background. Illustrated in pen and ink, colored in photoshop, and lettered and layed out in Illustrator.
These are watercolor and pencil and ink drawings. They are 5 of 10 images of my hand from a child's board book from which I peeled the laminated pages and exposed the underlying cardboard. I have always struggled with a very large Port Wine Stain birthmark, and periodically make art about that, this one of two books this year.
This is a digital drawing of two magical lions. I'm pretty happy with the way they turned out. The magical wind behind the Sky lion (with the horn) is especially cuter than I thought it would be. That wasn't planned at all -- just a last minute decoration thing. Anyway, hope you like.
Another "Sick Day Scarecrow" I did recently getting over a cold. There's too much comic stuff to get into to explain this, but in summary its a parallel universe Scarecrow I decided to design who is more of a superhero. Kinda.
