Metropolis

In a parallel world, not unlike our own, we find ourselves floating above a densely woven city of colorful roads, buildings, and parks.

#inktober #day17 #swollen

#Swollen is the word for #inktober #day17. Because the city I live in is swollen from cars, buildings, humans, rats, pigeons, dirt and trash I considered the word to be proper for the problem of urbanization. Even if it's a natural transformation, it comes with a lot of issues. I see it as a concrete and steel monster eating the nature that stands in its way. © Maria!Bălan, 2018

Inktober 29 - portrait

The idea for this portrait came to me when I was looking at a packaging of soap - it was very glossy and it looked like it could look like pearls. As well as the soap packaging, I used white ink mixed with acrylic paint (for opacity) on black paper.

Inktober 27 - city at night

For day 27 I made a very diluted India ink wash and painted a cityscape at night with white ink over it. I like how it turned out! Naïve and quirky.

Urban Craziness in Yellow

I don't know why, but I had to make yellow buildings. I wish I had more time on this, but I took it as far as I could and hit submit with 1 to 2 minutes to spare. Why do I do that to myself? Anyway, I hope you enjoy.

Heartbroken

So many saddening things happened in my beloved country. When Lombok haven’t revived from the disaster, another city was devastated by a huge earthquake and tsunami. Whenever I open the social media, there are people asking for help to find their missing family members. My heart races, hoping that they will reunite soon and alive. I can’t do anything besides praying for them. I’m also frightened to think that the disaster could happen in my city too. So, if you’re reading this, I’m asking for your prayers. May god protect us all.

(VR showroom) Artistrone - Display your work! in your own space!

Artists rarely have the opportunity to display their work. Modern people want to enjoy art, but they don't have time. What if there is an exhibition hall where anyone can exhibit their work and it is possible to view it anytime and anywhere? Artistrone is a google card board VR showroom where anyone can upload and share their work in their own virtual showroom. I made the inside of the showroom into a simply VR video. Start screen : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jxAN6HrcAhI Main hall : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=55mzJ4-Wyg4 showroom : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O41k0EicesM Please exhibit the canvas of the empty exhibition hall as your work Before formal service. -How to participate : Send your work to minestroneteam@gmail.com (please give the file name as the title of the work). ※ The works of those who participated will be exhibited in the Main Hall for one month. The official service is October 10. Part of a series of drawings following characters on a journey through strange and chaotic zones of a gigantic metropolis. I really enjoyed using the Sakura brush pen for this one.
