A character that will be appearing in my game "Cryptid Collector." Scout is a T-Rex like creature that is very helpful (sometimes too helpful) too his tamer. He has a habit of wandering off and causing trouble. Despite his fearsome teeth he can be overly friendly and trusting.
I find it awe-inspiring to watch crewed shuttles launch. This 3.5" x 4.5" acrylic on custom tiny canvas captures those first few moments after lift off. I used modeling paste to really emphasize the depth of the dust cloud, and I love that it adds a tactile element to it.
When the mood strikes to paint a mermaid with pink hair, it cannot be ignored. I let the shape of the canvas guide me with this one and went with a compass theme, and really like how it ended up. Acrylic on custom 3.5" x 4.5" canvas.
I still haven't had the pleasure of seeing this fascinating phenomenon with my own eyes, but someday I will! I painted this scene because I'm one of those weirdos that loves snow and sees so much beauty in the quiet winter scene. Acrylic on 3.5" x 3.5" on custom tiny canvas.
The tiny hex cutouts of this canvas were the inspiration for the turtle, and I chose to put it on a beach as the perfect excuse to have more fun with texture medium! Acrylic on custom 4" x 3.5" hexagon canvas.
Capturing the spaces in between and amplifying them with a play on exposure and contrast to bring forth the beauty I see within the layers. This particular play is a flower I saved from a very special event I attended. I then dried the petals of this beauty. These special petals make their way to various projects, including oil and acrylic paintings and resin on canvas. More to come :)
I take pride in experimenting with different photo exposures to bring out new dimensions in my creations. My work never feels complete, as there's always more room for exploration. Based off the urban legend of Edward Mordrake who was a man from the 1800's that had a twin on the back of his head. The twin supposedly would laugh, cry and tell whispers. This then led to Mordrake secluding himself in a room before deciding to take his own life at the age of 23.
