A quick painting and birthday gift for someone I'm very close with. The week is almost done, just in time for it to start again. Here's to the fact that I'll finally get to do double backs on Saturday, and that's getting me through the week. I don't know, today has been great and horrible all at once. I feel like I need to catch my breath, but I can't.

Here is a painting I made from observation on the top of Mont Bélair in Canada, just before sunset. I am painting those in a 5x8 very convenient moleskin watercolor book. I previously eyeballed the dimensions of this book at 4x6 when I had no ruler to verify but I was slightly wrong. Now the info is exact. :)

The monsters we create A collection of creatures born from our impact and existance on Earth. This is a work in progress project, it doesn't yet have a name, but the story becomes more clear every day. Soon I will have more details about it, until then take care, this runner is taking a real shape and it's after you. I thought of Edward Hopper when I came upon this view but a daytime version of his corner etching. I used watercolor, pen, and colic markers

I'm working on details and silhouettes. It's the first concept of illustration with a lantern. I'm going to do more in that style with even more details. Redrawing finished works is an excellent opportunity to develop skills and see progress. Have a lovely Wednesday!
