This is the finished drawing. It took me about 6 hours over the course of two days. I decided to just lightly shade the background so my finger prints didn’t show so much. I was afraid that going darker would make the horse blend in too much. I’m happy with how it turned out! Done in charcoal, marker, colored pencil, and pencils.

Day 2: mindless. I had an idea for this prompt and will probably still do it, but this is a doodle I just mindlessly did on the front of my sketchbook. No thought to these I just doodle this same snarling, twisted mass when I just randomly doodle.

I took an hour or two and drew some owls while watching the 7th Harry Potter movie. my first *official* painting titled "Winter Solace". I painted this one of my OC when I was feeling down. We all know how it feels during the winter months... dark, gloomy, and a good portion of us suffer from seasonal depression. But sometimes, we just have to take it in and be thankful for how far we've come, and how much we have yet to experience. I painted this to remind myself and others that there's always the calm after the storm, no matter how intense your storm may be. It's okay to not be okay.

Soft pastels on pastel mat. I got a set of pastels as a birthday present, so I had to try it. It's quite different from working with ink. I like the colors but I am searching for a better way do do the eyes and the horns.
The woods in my backyard. This has been a shit year so far, don't cha think? I get a few minutes relief by looking into the dark spaces between sunlit trees. Trying to see the forms. I'm hoping to get better at just that this summer.
It's official. I've gone to the dark side and fallen in love with acrylic gouache - specifically the Liquitex one. I used brush pen and watercolors. The most challenging part was holding back on excessive pen lines to render the fur, using patches of paint instead. Although I think the background is a bit dark and there a few mistakes, I feel that learned from this.
