I wanted to design a character for my story, so I messed around with different designs until I eventually came up with a good character design concept.

I started practicing gesture drawings using a variety of methods, also using references from the interwebs.

Playing with colored pencils this week. This is very loosely based on a photo....changed hair, eyes, and skin tones to suit my mood. Vintage Conte a Paris Criterium, Prismacolor Verithin, and Tombow Irojiten pencils.

A steam titan from the elder age, long forgotten. But this mammoth of gears and levers has not fogotten it's purpose. It delves through stone, and rock and mineral and earth. It hasn't stopped since the master's last order. The very nature of this machine is loyalty itself. Sometimes the scavengers follow it, picking up the remains it leaves behind in its search. What is it searching for? The center of the Earth? Nirvana? Hell for us ? Many a strange thing lay in the world of Nornwan. Was it always so? Mayhaps... UNTITLED - JAN 2020

On t-4 days before the shelter in place order came down, I went to the library and checked out a bunch of books for my son just in case the libraries closed (the libraries closed the next day). Two of them are on tsunamis, which my son is obsessed with. We were reading them this morning, and they put Bali on my mind. This voice kept singing, "jungle, jungle, more jungle!" while I was drawing this.

Pencil drawing I did of my family’s dog, Kiera. This was done for my neighbour’s birthday as a gift who is like a third grandmother in the family - she’s always loved Kiera. This is an experiment, I was trying to make a paper doll. I haven't cut out the pieces yet, but I'll post a picture tomorrow with the doll wearing the clothes. I also experimented with shading on the hair, and a different way of drawing it. I'm really sorry the picture is on it's side, I will fix that next time I do one of these.
