Aug 2021. Attempting realism without photo references. Drawing shows promise but nowhere near what can be done with reference

I did the water texture according to a tutorial by James Chapman, found on Instagram. The steampunk seahorse was an idea from a lady I am following on Instagram as well (look for @carrieisartsy) This piece is done on a paint chip card with poscapens, a gold marker and fineliners.

A simple idea of a character for my upcoming story

This is a digital drawing of a magical unicorn. I was inspired to draw this after seeing a cool looking unicorn in an app. The body, mane, and tail are all separate layers.

A digital drawing I made with my fingers to challenge myself ^^ I know a lot of digital artists use their fingers but I’m used to drawing with a stylus or some kind of pen in general XD. I’ve ironically never been good with finger painting.
