It's never been my practice to stick pins into insects and collect them that way, but drawing them is quite appealing. These are created with Prismacolor pencils and a Micron pen.
The background of this painting is applied with paint rollers. The flying creatures were made from paint sprinkles. It was painted on an 18x12” canvas sheet.

I have been wanting to explore the concept of creating a Vitruvian Women. Also felt like I struggled with the composition of the Reflect piece (which I am working on developing a series). Hence trying to learn from the best - in a scientific way:)
April 7th is my birthday. The day has been usually a low-key affair, with exceptions here and there over the years. I spent it keeping busy and creative, as is custom most days whenever I'm not out working or socialising. Roll on 27!

This is an old piece created as part of a series of illustrations for a poetry book entitled "Fruit and Bones" by Elizabeth Zimmers (Yon) back in 2002. Had prints made and just found them again - so I added them to my website ~ which is still a work in progress. Please visit and let me know your thoughts! Next is to add more originals and prints. Did you know that Respect was created by Otis Redding and it was about him complaining about his wife? Ironic how it become a hit only with Aretha and not just that but one of the flags for feminism of its time and probably still today. Respect indeed.
